Don't have a problem talking football, second-guessing the coaches on scheme, recruiting foibles (misses at RB) and use of personnel. That's all fodder for a loud and healthy debate . . . but where this board has gone off the deep end is it's turned into endless vulgar and classless personal attacks. The idea of mocking and demeaning 19, 20, 21-year-old college athletes is also out of control, whether stuck on the scout team and should never have been recruited or a starting RB with a tendency to cough up the ball in big games. It speaks volumes that so-called moderators/administrators have allowed the vitriol and vulgarity to fester to such a senseless level. Can't complain though cause don't have a nickle in the game, so maybe the solution is to invest in a pay site.

DCF in his post below is a perfect example of what you're saying about so called moderators.

With all due respect to the OP, sending your son to play for Al Golden is.... well, I wish you and him good luck. You are going to need it. Hope he gets better coaching and leadership after the inevitable happens.

Yes, because those who just went to the NFL had it so bad..

Pardon my French, but are you ******* kidding me? How much money did this sad sack of crap cost Chick by blowing him up 30lbs to play out of position? How did Phil Dorsett only catch 35 passes when he averaged almost 25 yards per catch last season? I'm sure a kid like Perryman, who would have been All-everything in an aggressive scheme, really appreciated playing in a system where he wasn't allowed to make a play until it was 5 yards past the LOS.

Kindly get the **** out of my face with that weak ****, 72.

Ah yes, a "moderator" spewing trash. Typical. Perryman played as well as he would have either way, so spare me the dramatics. Clive Walford, a 2-star recruit, became a top TE draft pick. Stop pretending that any of them lost an opportunity in the NFL or lost any money. The ONLY one that you might have an argument on is Chickillo, that's it. It's amusing that you guys whine about how many of the players went to the NFL yet we sucked...then whine that the coaches keep the players from making it into the NFL and cost them their careers.

While I understand the frustration with AG from our vantage point, doesn't the father of a prime recruit have a more informed perspective? I mean, how many of us have met AG and actually talked to him? I haven't and venture to guess that 99% of those posting have never gotten close to him. Seems to me that the OP is in a far better position to evaluate the program, the coaches and all the intangibles then any of us are.
****, he has been inside and seen it while all of us could only dream about that access.

Look at it like a business. You have one of your best customers telling you he doesn't like what he sees in your shop. You tell him to **** off without looking in the mirror and reflecting on what that means.

So you don't like the coach, we get it already...try and be respectful about it for a change is the only point I would add.

That's a pretty simple, logical, reasonable perspective...yet around here, good luck with that.

I've never went more than a couple of days without checking out the site since I joined. Over the course of a year the site has been steadily getting worse. Opinions on how to make this program better is one thing but the rhetoric and bashing you have to endure on just about every post is another. I will not post here again unless there is a dramatic tone change on this FAN site. I know there are a number of fans on this site that feel the same way as I do... but its the few that makes the most noise and set the tone of the site. Pardon the drama of an announcement... but my purpose is to let those that share my same convictions, know that I will still check and respond to the direct messages.

Pops if we START OUT 3-0 you'll see a big change...we were much more positive 2 -3 years ago...You should've seen this board when Golden was hired.Felt like we have been sprayed with the ghost buster slime how positive this board was.... Realize this is therapy for us... we love these canes but can only be positive for so long.....I understand your plight..but trust me youll be back after our first win....If we beat Nebraska oh boy...youll be back and it will be great here( for 1 week)... but until then do what you gotta do

Vern Let's keep it real. The white posters wanted the black ***** out. Period. These white guys can fake all they want. Let's call a spade a spade. The white posters were pumping up Golden because he is a white boy like them and he speaks w better diction that Randy. That's why I love the fact that these same "closet racists" have ruined this site because their white leader can't coach. Even though temple posters said the very same and a black columnist. Mr. Whitlock said he was terrible and didn't deserve this job.

OP,
You know what you were getting into.. Grandstanding aside..Fall back and enjoy life. You don't even know us.

What a load of racist crap on your part. Funny that you'd call someone else a closet racist when playing a non-existent race card to attack someone.

The joy of it is, we'll get some closure on this either way in less than 4 months. I hope some of you fellas stick around whether or not AG succeeds. After all, the program is bigger than one corch, is it not?

You are absolutely correct. The mods have the power to shut down the offensive posters or at least give them a timeout. This site is better than most, but even a good thread is often blown up by the constantly negative.

The mods allow this stuff to keep going on so nothing will change IMO.

You're right. It was simple.

It's mind-blowing how some think that these parents have the type of access to 'evaluate the program better' like they are on campus daily and sit in on team and coach meetings on the reg. They are being recruited. It's no different than restaurant commercials with a nice juicy steak and then when they serve it is as tender as a shoe sole. Or parading the hottest co-eds to give campus tours instead of the feminist hipster chick that doesn't shave.

Who cares how the inner machinations of a clock works if the time is wrong?

/metaphor overload!

Yes, so even you should be able to understand it...with a little help.

I'm out... this site has become a joke. People look for any reason to bash and attack anything or anyone that is positive towards the program...

Yes, but a nobody like you on a message board knows more. Let's see, the parents have every single bit of info that you have, PLUS greater access to the program, greater access to the players and coaches, greater access to the other recruits.

LMAO "hey man these recruits ya know their parents get super secret inside info to evaluate the program. They have better insight into the program, man. They know more than us."

We just lost 7 games. Evaluation over. Numskulls.

It's not even limited to bashing anything "positive". They will start bashing when they make up complete lies or other nonsensical attacks and are proven wrong, even if you don't say anything positive about the program. They are the equivalent of mentally/emotionally disturbed children that hate their teacher/babysitter/stepparent, etc. so much that they will make up false accusations of abuse just to try to bring them down.
