I think what drives us Canes fans crazy..

The idea of “winning for years” “Building a foundation to last” etc is mostly BS. There might be….maybe….1-2 coaches who have done that in the last 50+ years. Saban, then who? Maybe Stoops or Bowden?

It pretty much does not ever happen anywhere. Coaches win in smallish windows of time or they usually don’t win at all (at elite championship levels).

Well, the number of coaches who have sustained success is greater than the number of coaches who came in and won something in year one.

Miami should be 3-2 or 4-1 but to make it seem like Miami should be undefeated because USC is, is goofy. The fact that you used Ladson/Addison, Dye/Parrish as a comparison is goofier. Left out Mario Williams. Left out Caleb Williams playing in the same exact system offensively.

Mario didn't need to get a QB because we already have a good one...one that was forced into a system he hasn't looked comfortable in since at least the spring game (publicly). That falls on Gattis's shoulder, which in turn is Mario's fault because he hired him. Again, nobody is saying we should be undefeated in year 1, but there were some decisions made by the top guy that appear subpar so far.

Good coaches put their stars in position to win. Mario should of seen this offense was not a fit for tvd and put a coordinator in place to take advantage of his strengths.
If can't objectively look and see that USC came into this season in a better place then, hey

What is sustained success? And, nobody usually wins big in year 1 unless they took over a program that was already healthy and on top. But generally you do see certain signs in year one and big jumps in year 2

You don't know what sustained success is?

So you often see big jumps in year 2, but we are certain that Mario is a clown after five games in year one.

So no confidence in mario?

Then why are you claiming im wrong in what im saying?

Who said no confidence in Mario? I don't even know who Miami's coach will be or what conference we will be in in 5 years. Like I said, I'm not some village idiot who makes stupid futures bets four years in advance.

And, again, since when is the measuring stick determined in the first six games?

Whose first year would you rather have, Brady Hoke's or Dabo Swinney's? Hoke's of course. How about now?

I’ll like to add that while USC have sucked for yrs, we’ve sucked much, much worst.

Riley’s predecessor was a corch, & said corch won 3 division titles, 1 conference title, played in 2 NY6 bowl games (won 1 of them), & won 2 bowl games, w/ a .657 win %

Mario’s predecessor was a corch, & said corch won literally nothing, w a .583 win %

Helton became coach of a SC team coming off a 10-4 season in 2013; SC have had four 10+ win seasons since 2010.

I wish this fan base would stop comparing us, b/c it’s literally not the same. The only thing that was the same was SC’s lack of support for their CFB program, and Nat’l title drought, but SC has accomplished way more than us during this drought, INCLUDING investing in taking over their playing field to generate more $$ for their AD. We ain’t the same…that includes both coach’s 1st yr start. One coach took over a roster built by his corch predecessor & the other brought his kids over that spoke the same language to replace his predecessor.

At this point I'd like to see us at least lose in a different fashion. I was pregaming with my brother when we went down 14-0. I told him if we held true to form we'd make a comeback, have a chance to tie or win the game late, then make one last mistake to botch it. That same scenario has played out repeatedly for seemingly forever.

Right, but you can't play both sides tho fam.

I’m not sure they r playing both sides, & isolating Ivey is not really the litmus. Mario, when asked about things & in particularly this roster, have been transparent from day 1. He's said (in part): “I see some things that we’re doing well, but sometimes it feels like we’ve taking a step back in others. All in all we’re getting there, but we still have a long ways to go.”

That’s been a very consistent msg to us, & some on here was like “wooooooooo, 15-0 baaaaaabay!” We’ve heard WRs having drop issues, & after BCU & So Miss, both clean games from a hands stand point, & it was “woooooooooo; who said WRs r dropping balls (pause)??? They haven’t dropped a pass yet; over exaggerating! WE WANT A&M!!”

So I want say the staff can’t have it both ways, I’ll say fans hear & read what they want, ignoring all signs, INCLUDING a brotha like myself who said don’t fall for the Ivey talk until we see it in game. Some guys r beast in practice, but come Saturdays, they go shell shock.

It’s not just the media and fans drinking the off season koolaid. The players deny it, but they buy into this BS. You can tell by the shock they feel when the game doesn’t go their way.

I never stated anything about Mario being a clown nor a failure. My question was what is sustained success by your definition?

More than the Larry Hoke plan of winning in year one and then getting worse each year. I would rather lose now while a proven head coach gets things in place.

Again, how do you define sustained success? What are you looking for? I never typed out Hokes name, ever, so Idc about that dude lol. I actually stated that most coaches do NOT have yr 1 success.

They've said this about numerous players, I was just singling Ivey out. And we all know the hype TVD was getting.

What would u like them to say to the public?

Reporter: “Tell us coach, how’s DJ Ivey doing & adjusting to the new scheme?”

Mario: “The guy is ***, yo. How did he get a scholly here? Nahhh, real ? to ya’ll; how did he get a scholly here?”

Reporter: “OKkkkk, so TVD is getting a lot of Heisman hype this off season, what has impressed u about him in ur short time here?”

Mario: “Impress me…the fact this **** don’t even have any of the WRs phone #’s, that’s impressive af. Like how tf r u the captain of a football team & ain’t got one muh fckin phone # of the guys u throwing the ball to?! Aye, Aye Gattis, question for u, my boy; When u was at the other UofM, did McNamara have phone #’s to the WRs on the team? (Gattis in the background: “**** yeah, Coach!) Ya’ll heard that right? So that’s most impressive to me; that a 3 yr guy ain’t called Tyrone or no body else this off season to put in that work.”

Reporter: “Mmmmm, well tell us about how Flagg is doing in the new scheme?”

Mario: “You talking Corey, right? He still slow af even though he’s lost weight, but he’s a bright kid, so he gone start regardless.”

I mean, is that what ya’ll wanna hear? Lol
