I hate to be that guy, but...

At the time, there was the BCS bowl system. The only way the ACC would get more money was to put two teams into the BCS, which was highly unlikely. Now, putting a team in the playoff nets any possible extra money.

The ACC has 100% revenue sharing. So every team in every sport spends and collects money, all of which goes to the ACC and an end of year profit sharing is paid back to each school.

The ACC has exactly what they want in the Coastal Division. Each year a different team gets to win the division and go to the the ACC-CG. Socialist football.

Yes, but its not like FSU was going to the BCS championship on a regular basis. Having a second team that actually had a shot of going to the BCS championship had to benefit the ACC.

Even during that time sending teams to bigger bowl like the NY6 would get the conferance more money than sending a team to the gasparilla bowl.

How does having a different team each year in the ACCCG benefit the ACC? The ACC benefits from having multiple good teams. Look how much more money the ACC was taking in when Clemson and FSU were both good compared to just FSU being good.

It is not just bowl games either. The ACC would make tons of money off U marketing if the U was elite. People all over the country liked the U when we were good. The ACC would have been respected way sooner with Miami being good. Getting more games shown on ESPN, ABC, etc. benefits the conference.

@DuvalcoCane

I've been on record for a decade now stating my belief that Donna Shalala intentionally tried to prevent UM football from being an elite program as part of her deal with the ACC. I can say for certain that she told Al Golden in no uncertain terms to recruit away from Miami.
And anonymous trustee told a Miami beat writer / talk show host that the first thing Shalala told fellow trustees when she was hired was that she couldn't stand the idea of the football program being bigger than the school itself, and she vowed to do something about it! ***** could've ponied up the 25-30 mil to help renovate the OB but refused. FIU ask her to pony up the same amount to make their stadium a joint venture and that Ewok looking ***** said no to that too!

OP was the first in line at the 5 o'clock free crack giveaway
do you have any idea how totally stupid that sounds and for how many reasons ?
disagreement with an opinion by insulting the person is monkey stupid and makes you look like an immature ***.

you can probably do much better than that.

try responding to an opinion with a reasonable or better argument if you have one. thats how you get respect.

also try respecting the fact that freedom of speech should include being able to express an idea or opinion without being
personally attacked or insulted.

Believe it or not there are actually times when someone posts a thread simply to promote thought and serious discussion. Instead of simply considering what was written and offering a respectful argument or opinion in response we get a thread
full of immature insults and idiots trying to be clever like a cage full of chattering and howling monkeys.

Op was kidnapped by aliens.they did all kinds of experiments on him.sexually assaulted him both orally and through penetration.checked what affects space weed and other space drugs with mind altering effects.then op woke up in a padded cell wearing a straight jacket.

Why is the NCAA paying kids to go to Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State? Why not Miami? I mean, we are a more densly populated urban area filled with high income indivduals. Think of the untapped money at stake that the NCAA is leaving on the table. Also, if the NCAA is so SEC biased, why did it allow Richt to continue to be employed for 15 years in a marquis SEC school? Didn't they know he was terrible for 15 years?

The influence of big money causes people to do any thing to keep it. These recent conference alignments did not happen by accident.

The powers that be want a specific result to happen.

Everybody knows or has heard stories of how Alabama pays players directly or their families benefit, better job, house, car, name it.

Why hasn't the NCAA investigated?

The NCAA is corrupt and certain teams are allowed to play by different rules.

No rational reason why Miami has been this bad for so long,

Read the original post and re-think your question. It’s plain as day. The problem is the cognitive dissonance that quickly follows the epiphany....

The NCAA is being run by " GOOD 'OL BOYS " , therefore they want a good 'ol boy school to be the face of college football, and what better school than Alabama?
