And respectable is going 8-4, 9-3 or an OCCASIONAL 10-2 season. Then add in some lower-tier bowl game and a ACC championship cameo appearance every three or four years. BUT NEVER playing in the major college football playoffs or holding up a NC championship trophy.

And yes, I was FOOLED by last years glorious season under the SF scorching sun. But no mas, baby.

And circa 1993-1997 it was that Herbie CornSUCKER football team. And Nebraska is the POSTER BOY of good ol' boy-ism and what not. Oh, and one more thing. Between 1993 and 1996 Nebraska was turning out college football CRIMINALS galore and all that ( The infamous L. Phillips and Kate McEwen case, anyone. And that was just the tip of the Go Big Red iceberg. Yikes. ). Go figure. But at least they got those 3 NC rings. Albeit Tommy Boy Ozzie SOLD HIS SOUL for those trophies!

A side note. It took Tommy Boy Ozzie freakin' TWENTY-THREE years to win his first national championship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 23 years! So yes, it's probably a conspiracy theory that T.O. " sold his soul " for those three NC rings and all that. So what.

And dig this. Nebraska was " respectable too "- 8-3 or 9-2- and getting their azzes kicked in many a bowl game, too. But that all changed when he implemented the " 4--3 " defense and recruited some nasty criminal prone football players on offense and defense. No not all of those Cornhusker's had a tendency to be nefarious and what not. Only TWENTY PERCENT of the starters, and that was enough to put Tommy Boy Ozzie over the mountain top of national championship success and all that. dUh.

And the only reason WHY Nebraska's A.D., BOT, and Tomas Osbourne couldn't keep the " lid shut " on the infamous Phillips vs. McEwen case was because the latter came from REFINED UPPER-MIDDLE class leanings ( Old Kansas money. ). For instance, Ms. McEwen's mother, and father, FORCED Tommy Boy's hand! OUCH Also, it helped that both the NEW YORK TIMES and ESPN came to the rescue of the McEwen family and what not.:youre-nuts: Yes!

It’s a hard thing....I know. The memories are starting to fade.... . And the prospect of never replacing them with more, positive ones...is hard to swallow. I’ve NEVER felt like this concerning Miami football. It’s literally HARD TO WATCH this “brand” of “football”. Even now- its good to watch the defense dominate....until they literally gas themselves because of the offensive output. It’s almost unwatchable. Real ****...

I mean we hired 4 terrible coaches in a row and let them hang around for way to long. Look at Florida. They canned macelwain the first season he started ******** up.

Coker was a bad hire, but I understand where they were coming from by promoting an inside guy since the team was rolling and they didn't want to rock the boat to much.

Shannon was dumb because we just saw the exact same thing fail with coker, but at least he was cheap. Also, I am sure most people thought a black HC from the inner city would be able to just stack blue chip recruits from Miami and we saw Coker win a ship with that model even though he sucked as a coach.

Golden was dumb. Never hire a G5 coach after only 1 pretty good season. However, atleast they didn't make the same mistake as the last 2 hires and Golden was a cheap hire to just get us through the sanctions and he was cheap.

The Richt hire was mindbogglingly dumb. We hired a terrible coach that just got fired for performance reasons and we made him one of the top 20 highest paid coaches in the nation.

And they are shamefully whoring out via merchandising, the very thing they say they want to shed-our “image”. Fans that didn’t attend Miami are not purchasing UM merchandise because the school is ranked 53rd academically, lol. They are buying UM’s persona....the UM attitude. That all stemmed from our football success. Now they **** all over our football legacy with the deal from the devil AND continually cash in on our(fans) street consumption of said “attitude”. It’s ***kg DISGRACEFUL!!!!!!

Lol. Ever notice how NO IMPROPRIETY EVER STICKS TO OTHER PROGRAMS????? That’s an effect of the media. If they don’t report on a single incident ad nauseum, it will never stick in the consciousness of the general public. Not to mention the fact that most members of the press are alumnus of the schools in areas they report. Remember a few years back....during the “Tebow era”..UF had a string of like....25 arrests?!?! You had guys firing weapons on campus and all??? Notice how UF isn’t weighted down by the “Thug U” moniker!?!?! Right. But yet Robert Marve breaks a car mirror and it’s a crawl at the bottom of freaking ESPN. YOU CANT MAKE THIS **** UP!!!!!! Lol

@DuvalcoCane in your opinion, is it in the realm of possibility that Mork Richt is in some way deliberately sabotaging the Miami program ? some people are considering this as the only logical explanation for why he ignores obvious problems and is doing nothing to improve Miami ? @LustNCanes

In a sense? Yes. He is doing what we paid him to do- keep us “respectable”. He arrogantly attempts to throttle down a slightly above average team and we end up losing to teams that never SNIFF’d the top 50 in recruiting. Lol@ SNIFF......miss that guy...good poster....

Nobody had more players arrested over the past decade than Alabama. And notice how how no one calls us thugs or convicts anymore now that we sukk?! Espn rehashed the Catholics vs Convicts crap to generate some ratings but other than that you don't hear that thug shut no more cause we ain't **** no more. Reverse Psychology at its best!

Right on! Yes. Exactly. BINGO! Yet the irony regarding the CF media- nexus is this, several national media entities stuck their big noses in the Nebraska/Phillips vs McEwen nefarious case. Not only is Kate white, she's from respectable upper-middle class old Kansas money. And Osborne and his " inner " Nebraska minions wanted to keep it in "the family " , but the national sports and NEWS media intervened. Think ESPN, NewYork Times and Washington Post. Yikes.
