I am all in with Richt but some of you will not like this...

I do not like Richt as a play caller. I really think he should reach out to Ken Dorsey before he gets a NFL OC job. Ken has recently stated that he would love to come back to Miami. This is Richt's chance to get someone who will be a great asset to his program. Also, he could groom Dorsey to be the next head coach.

Yea...the guy who took 2 teams to a NC as Off. Coord and was in the top 5 for 3 straight years can't call plays

That was **** near twenty years ago. He is passed his prime as a play caller.

Yeah. Too old. Never should've hired an old man.

Ken is one of my favorites.
Now tell me how many plays have you seens him call??

Who cares? He can learn on the job. Trial and error. Just get rid of this old guy. They hired a senior citizen. He's passed his prime. I should know. I pass my prime all the time

Looked to me like Richt made the decision to get our guys the ball in space and give Brad some easy throws on an off night. Worked also. Spread em out and made them run sideline to sideline. I thought it was a good adjustment. The OL played like doo doo in the first half, Brad wasn't given a lot of time to go through his progression. The drop by Njoku early in the game would have gone for big yards, but he didn't make the catch. Searles is gonna beat on the OL this week. The thing that drove me nuts the most were the BS injuries FAU had anytime we looked to have some momentum. Onto App St.

Go Canes!

I didn't like the play calling either. It reminded me of Golden's first game against Maryland, and Kaaya's first game against Louisville. Everything was horizontal and very vanilla. Fortunately Walton bailed us out. And I'm not buying the notion that Richt was just "saving the playbook for a better team". Every game counts.

I agree. I don't buy that Playbook nonsense. All of the bubble screens made me think of Patrick Nix and James Coley.

Yall are high. Richt adjusted nicely. You should be happy we turned to the screen and the run game since it was the only thing that kept working. When the qb is 1 for 7 you don't keep forcing it. Kaaya looked terrible. Richt did the right thing imo.

you guys don't get a struggling qb do you? Kayaa is not tom brady, he's like manning

confidence is everything and picking them apart softly, which is all richt did and all he needed to do

like he said in the post game interview.."well passing game isn't really there.. let's line up in quarters and chill"

Yeap. No time to waste, fire QB coach now and bring in Ken. Hiring the kid thing did Bobby in; Mark should know better.

He sure should know better than that.

I want Mark to kick rear here but using a coaching position up on his son puts him on the fire immediately. He had Earl Morrall as his QB coach, not Howard's son. Brad has not looked improved and he is about the only thing that does not look improved. Mark needs to see this himself and take action. Either he or his son are not making the grade with a very smart QB as their student.

This is a very enlightening discussion between "left hook" and "gatorhater" - - - it's amazing what you can learn from the super intelligent exchanges on these boards.

Kaaya needs to feel outside pressure a little faster...It looks like he's not stepping in.... The timing was definitely off one way or the other.

Bland play calling on an overmatched opponent, nothing to worry about

This. He's probably shown 30-40% of his playbook at this point. How many times did he run the same WR screen pass tonight? I counted at least 10. Does anybody really think a guy who won 10 games almost every season in the SEC is going to call the same play more than 10 times in a game?

Lol how do you know Job Richt isn't good at coaching QB's?

You do conserve your playbook or let's say don't show your full hand. I think the play calling stinks. It's not imaginative and honestly rather predictable.

It was predictable. But that wasn't an accident. Richt shut it down when he saw Kaaya was off but also they weren't able to stop the screens and runs so why not make them stop it? FAU was dropping 7 into pass coverage every time so Richt made them pay for it. We are talking about an offense with 108 points in two games. It hasn't been great but it's not the Gators offense either.

I guess I shouldn't admit to going to school with that old man.

You cant just make assumptions after 1 game. I'm more happy about our defense. Richt has been coaching for a long time, he doesn't seem overly worried and I wont be either. To how i I see our defense playing in sure Kaaya will play better. If Coley got him to put up decent numbers, Richt will as well especially with running the ball alot better
