Hurricane Irma

Alot of this stuff you read in the local papers is clearly click bait. When you see things like, "Miami-Dade planning first major evacuation in 12 years" on the front page of the Herald, you would think its all of Miami but its shoddy journalism as only Miami Beach and the Keys are being evacuated. Some of these media outlets are spreading panic throughout the city but for some reason NOT ONE wants to put they dyck on the table and call this thing..They are all speaking in generic, broad range terms with those dumba$$ spaghetti forecasts. Starting to **** me off.

I agree with all your points. The only thing is that, about the forecast, weather is the most complex scientific thing to forecast even the best scientists in the world, with the fastest and most powerful supercomputers, cannot accurately predict were hurricane is going more than a couple of days ahead of time, if that. This thing could even be turning to the Atlantic and not even touch Florida. The models are literally all over the place. It's not anyone's fault, it's the fact that a hurricane has so many different factors, hundreds of factors, that dictate it's movement, and no one has found a reliable way of taking all those different factors and making a super accurate prediction.

Regardless, people need to be more hurricane vigilant in this State during hurricane season. Tired of these last minute MFers clearing out shelves when they should've been buying that **** over time. Saw a woman with about 20 cases of water in & under her shopping cart yesterday, $h!t don't make no sense.

That's misleading.

They don't get many hurricanes in your state, so I get it. But that 400 mile diameter is meaningless. The severe damage and danger to life and limb is within roughly a 50 mile radius from the eye center

What's misleading? It's a graphic showing the size of it, for perspective. I also saw one comparing the size to the state of Texas.

Just stick with whatever kind of storms they have in Ohio, and let us worry about it for those of us that have experience with it.

There is no such thing as hurricane force winds with a 400 mile diameter.

Listen, I'm not sure why you're always shoving your nose up my *** when I post, but it's uncomfortable now that your whole head is there...

I posted a pic to show the size of the storm, and not once did I insinuate by posting that pic that I'm some expert on it, nor did I say anything about the strength of the winds from it. Christ lol

I don't even know who you are or remember any of your prior posts.

That IPF is never gonna get done.

But yea, be safe. Weather and wildlife is the only thing keeping me from moving to south florida.

Wildlife? It's not that bad down here bro. Unless you live out west near the everglades, you never see any wildlife (except for the rare racoon or oppossum and some iguanas).

Dont worry bro-- aint no Gators left in Miami.

You get some bad flooding God knows what will turn up where you don't expect it. You know the minor flooding they had in south Beach after 7" of rain on August 1st. That could be dwarfed if the hurricane hit. One video showed a catfish slithering along the sidewalk. I guess that could have come from the ocean. Some guy showed what he claimed was a fish he in the streets but that was obviously fake.

Joe Bastardi says a lot could depend on whether it hits Cuba. He said if it threads the needle and avoids Cuba it could be very intense if and when it hits south Florida. Then it could go up one of the coasts. If it goes up the west coast and hits the panhandle, I wonder if the FSU game could be affected.

You're right... Had not thought of that... Wouldn't say it's a major concern, but it's possible.

This afternoon's models -- including the Euro -- have Irma making a functional bee-line towards Miami. Would be the worst possible development, as this morning it looked like the storm had shifted East.

In order for it to go East like we need it to..at some point the eye has to be in direct line of sight with South Florida..but for it to shift that much in one day it makes me optimisitic what it could do by Friday. Now of course worse case scenario it doesnt shift at all and stays on its course to which we are all phucked in South Fla. But Im hoping for the best and hoping it continues East as many models predicted it would at the outset.
