How much longer do you give Golden?

The guy was offered a higher paying head coach position at his alma matter where they have 110k plus at the SPRING GAME with fans that worship you like you're a God and he is STILL being criticized for simply considering taking the job?

Get over it.

The whole PSU was supreme bull****, but that was kinda an isolated incident considering his history with the school. Considering no SEC school will want him, I don't see him leaving on his own terms any time soon.

I think when Golden pulled that PSU BS, he should have been terminated.

Add in the fact that he's using SAE tooling and material to implement a complicated project requiring metric specifications, using metric materials and tooling, is getting lost in translation. Golden and D'Onofrio are trying to shove a quarter in a dime slot.

It hasn't worked in the least for three years, but this time, some of you would suggest it's going to purr like a kitten.

The miserable existence isn't me - but I feel it's falling on our team. We lose to UL again, and give up a bunch of yards, then for our players who put in a lot of work and follow the coaches instructions - it may start to weigh on them very heavily, suggesting the scheme as proposed - suks.

Gotta be a heartbreaker to buy into the "PROCESS," and the PROCESS is crap.

You must be a very recent Canes fan. You have no idea how good it is to win, win, win.

Golden certainly deserves more time. But weren't you like this with Shannon? Seems hypocritical.
 
He should be fired after our third ACC loss, at VT (if it takes that long). Just run out of here with that entire staff.
 
Oh, and Golden wasn't offered **** by PSU. Some message board clown, season ticket holder was the one who offered Golden, and when the PSU folks acrtually in charge found out, they laughed in his face.

Winning cures all - even his ****** defensive scheme; losing to vtech, nc, fsu, and virginia forces him to fire dorito and upgrade his staff or he goes. Even losing 3 of 4. Beat 2 or 3 and he gets a pass and the staff stays. I hope the kids pick are allowed to apply some pressure cuz holding the line of scrimmage, ie gap control, looks terrible.

I see you and your rhetorical tricks. Pointing out that Golden didn't/doesn't? want to be here isn't criticism. It's acknowledging reality. Every coach always wants a better job, it's not exactly some sort of secret. And he didn't "consider the job" and then turn it down. He wanted it, actively pursued it, and then he got turned down for it once PSU found out they could do better. Simple as.

Now it was an isolated incident? Because I thought the talking point Golden's supporters usually trot out there is, "He stuck with the U during the whole NCAA fiasco. He could have left for UCLA or Tennessee or (blank)." Were those isolated too? Or is that just some BS people say to convince themselves that the head of their football program is in demand?

When you consider the kind of behavior that the SEC will tolerate or simply ignore in the name of winning, the fact that no SEC school would want him speaks volumes about his ability as a coach doesn't it?

Riddle me this, big guy: if every coach always wants a better job, doesn't it reason that they would interview if offered? By your logic, interviewing means the coach doesn't want to be at his current school. Using your logic, does this not make all coaches unloyal?
 
I know it seemed far fetched when I said ice Harris is gonna be the next head coach and I will still stand by it.

They'd interview for jobs they thought were better, or could become better via negotiations. Nick Saban isn't going to interview for the Eastern Michigan job, but he'll listen if Texas offers him $20m/yr. I wouldn't call it being unloyal. It's a guy with a job who always wants one that pays more, is higher profile, means he can win more, is in a better location, is closer to his family, etc. You probably wouldn't call McDonald's back if they wanted you to work the fryer for them. But you would if they said they wanted you to be CFO.

Again, I didn't criticize Golden for interviewing, just pointed out that it did in fact happen so I'm not sure what inconsistency you think you've caught me in.
 
LOL at all these cane fans who think the rest of the world should love the canes just like them. You realize that that coaches have ties to other places right? You know, like going back home might be a big deal to some people? If your asked all the coaches in the country what their dream job is 99% would say it's someplace other then where they are for whatever reason. Get the **** over it man, it's not like he was trying to go to UF. As long as he gives 110% while he's here I don't care if he goes home and wacks it to a joepa poster every night.

Golden tried to bolt in the night because he knows. That was his LAST chance to be a HC 9and would have given him two or three more excuses of terrible season because of PSU's "Cloud"). He will be a Radio like positions coach after he's finally run out of here.

Such a self defeatist attitude to have already thinking losing to UL is foregone conclusion. Ironic you telling me I don't know how good it is to win. Your way of dealing with your self defeatist way is to be pessimistic about the future so that if things don't well you won't feel the hurt and if they do go well you'll be as happy as can be. A very cowardly way to approach things if you ask me. A self defense mechanism for the weak if you will.

There is zero chance that Golden will get fired after this season no matter what happens. He is signed through 2019 and was screwed before he even coached a game with the Shapiro crap. He is building a program and an organization. Unfortunately, it is taking longer than everyone hoped including golden but that's life. He will start feeling heat in 2015 not this year.

as if your the one doing the hiring. If it gets ugly he may be let go. its all fine and dandy now and optimism in the air. When the president and whoever makes the decisions watch us get trampled or embarrassed again, they all have a breaking point. You see it on the players face, the team looks lost and defeated and everyone knows, **** aint getting better anytime soon. He is under pressure and alot of it had to do with flirting with PSU. Thats even more serious than getting pimp slapped by FSU, trust me
