How much longer do you give Golden?

5 wins or less and he will be fired.
6 to 7 wins and he stays but will be forced to make staff changes which may lead to him resigning especially if it's Dorito he is pressured to replace. (Make no mistake golden will not under any circumstances fire Dorito, not gonna happen ever)
8 wins his seat will be warm/hot but he is safe and may feel a little pressure to replace a staff member.
9 wins he's good for one more year
10+ wins and he is good to go for at least 2 or 3 more years.

then we need 5-7 desperately.

6 or 7 wins and being stuck with *** is the worst scenario I could imagine. recruiting will take a nose dive under that scenario and we'd be stuck with him for another year or two prolonging the inevitable

Well, at least you finally admit it. You would rather see this team lose, so you can come in here and beat your chest about how you were right about AG being a bad coach/fit then see him and the U have success. Hey at least your willing to admit it.

See, thats where I have a hard time getting to. I would rather root for AG to succeed because I want to see these players succeed and in turn watch my team WIN. But it takes all kinds....

god you are dumb.

no, I want the CANES to DOMINATE. period. I am 100% sure that wont happen with *******, so I want him gone ASAP. has nothing to do with being right or wrong.

worst case is that he keeps his job with somewhere between 6 and 8 wins maintaining his trademark horrible defense.

there is virtually no chance at a 10+ win season and winning the ACC. there is no chance in **** that this staff will beat FSU.

so, the best course is the course that will have ******* fired the quickest.

So, if he wins 9 or ten games what does that mean? I just think some fans on here are so enamored with the 2001 season/roster that they do not understand that we would absolutely have run a guy like Stoops out of here long before he would have a chance to be the coach he is because we would have thought for sure there were greener pastures. I think this staff has what it takes to get this ship on the right side of the tracks, but I think the need for the best roster ever by the fans will push him out of here first. And that is why this will never be a destination job. It will always be a 3-5 yr run. Because the fan base is so fickle, that you either win and just get the **** out of here and take a pro job, or you don't win or even win fast enough and you get ousted.

I mean lets not kid ourselves we had guys saying **** like "the cloud is over I want to see results", 2 weeks after the cloud was over. When the fact is the cloud hurt recruiting the most and you cant see any change there for at least a year, so just because we had closure it didn't undo any of the potential damage it already did to recruiting, but look at the recruiting right now, its going quite well and extremely well for the '16 class.

I'm afraid we would run any coach out of here if they consistently won 9-11 games. Because there would not be any titles to show for it, but I think AG will at least have us in the talk yearly from here on out, but will he get pushed out if he does not win a title in the next two years? I do expect to have a championship team, but I also understand that it is not necessarily realistic. Especially, when you factor all that has to go right for a team to win it all. I think we need to use a bit more patience when judging the coaches, but hey maybe we will have a 7 win season and AG will be gone and I will just be another slurper.. or whatever the heck you wanna call it.

I root for the canes, period. I don't care who the coach is. I want them to have success because that means my team is winning.

I was a Golden supporter coming into this year. I thought some fans were being too hard. Now Golden has his personnel, his team. These are his recruits everywhere just about and with what I have seen, I am no longer a Golden supporter. It isn't just because we are 3-3, it's why we are 3-3. If we were lacking talent and the cloud really did kill us, I would be okay with 3-3. When the recruting hardly suffered at all and we have the talent we do and are 3-3 with the schedule we've played that is a problem. It is one thing to lose because your scheme was okay, but you don't have your players. It's another thing to lose because you have your players and your scheme is just absolutely terrible.

Miami is losing because Al Golden and Mark D'Onofrio are playing an absolute terrible scheme on defense and are making no adjustments. When they explain their defense and their reasoning, it shows how arrogant they are. Golden and D'Ono have thrown the players under the bus constantly. They truly believe their scheme is amazing when it isn't. It has nothing to with personnel. Nearly every single play we are in the same base formation. Nearly every single game we are getting beat the same exact way by different teams.

Another reason why Golden should go in my opinion is the fact that players are not developing under him. They aren't. It is really that simple. The players are coming here and looking like great freshmen when they get playing time. Then they just fall off and look bummed.

The team doesn't buy into Golden's preaching. He is not developing players. His scheme is awful and he will stick by it no matter what. He throws the players under the bus every loss. The guy can recruit and that is about all there is to it.

I'm not asking for his departure just because of a lack of wins. Sure, it is a part of it. However, the reason we have a lack of wins is because of all of the things I just said that plague Miami football with Al Golden around. Miami is not trending up. With Al Golden at the helm there is no reason at all to believe the future is bright. A good football coach makes or breaks a program at this level. Good coaches win with average talent and dominate with great talent. Look at David Cutcliffe, Gary Pinkel, etc. These guys bring in 2 and 3* players only for the most part. Cutcliffe just won the Coastal and Pinkel has a tremendous track record. Those guys develop talent and the players believe in them. Would Al Golden win the ACC Coastal with Duke's roster last year? Would he win the SEC East with Missouri's roster last year or be on pace to win it this year too? No. He would not stand a chance.

Those coaches make adjustments every day to their teams. They have the players buying into everything because they know what they are doing in all aspects just about. Golden doesn't have a clue what to do with Miami. Why is he 1-22 or whatever it is against teams that finish with 5 losses or less? Why is he being outscored 3:1 in his career? Because he is a terrible head coach. He may be a great position coach. He may be a great recruiter, but he is not a head coach. There is no sugar coating it. The talent is there to win the Coastal nearly every year. Miami simply brings in classes that are leaps better than the rest of the Coastal. We're not asking for ACC Championships every year. We aren't asking for 10-2 to be the worst thing we see per decade. We are only asking for a coach that makes adjustments, develops players, gets the players to believe, etc. We are tired of hearing the same excuses and seeing 20 year olds being thrown under a bus every single loss.

Great Post! We are now a joke in the softest division of the worst Big 5 conference. As another poster said:

I live in Atlanta and was driving home listening to Paul Johnson show. Dude called in and asked about how the player star rating system is and Johnson was like, "I don't know how they do it, but you just saw a bunch of 2 stars beat up a bunch of 4 and 5 stars. So that's what that means to me."

Instant loss of credibility....honestly stopped reading after that

If we finish out well, only lose to fsu and win a bowl, I'll give him next year with a new defensive coordinator and philosophy. Anything less than that, and give me butch.

The first three years, definitely, that roster sucked. This year may not be top 5 material, but they should be better than this.

He deserves more time especially with the NCAA mess; however, our defense needs some serious changes this year.
Life is not reciprocal. He was paid handsomely for below average results and that essentially is how loyalty is shown in the big money business world. He doesn't get the chance to run the program deeper into the basement because of the NCAA BS. The school owes him nothing but whatever his settlement would be. Fire his *** and lets become The U again.

No it didn't you dumb ******. We should have won the coastal in 2011 and 2013 (especially 2013) with that ****** schedule. **** you and **** Golden. I'm tired of these ******** blaming players for the coaches incompetence. **** you.

Exactly, did Bill O'Brien get results while at Penn State with their NCAA mess? Yes, he's now in the League because of it.
Al needs to go!

If I were looking to sell a boat with a big hole in the bottom then Golden is my guy. Leading this team to victory against top tier teams, I would say there is no chance. We will never be relevant with his leadership, it time to say good bye.
