How good was Jacory Harris?

Surrounded by all that talent and not really having all that great stats.

And getting drafted in the seventh round.

Stats have to be looked at in context. Dorsey's SR year (2002-03 season) there were only 17 QBs with 60%+, this year there were 65. Game has changed a lot. That said, there were times when Dorsey was very inaccurate. Dorsey's best year was as a So IMO

**** it, I'm going deep!

He played well his Sr. year, but nothing spectacular. Before that he was inconsistent. Never forget when he got broken in half against UVA.

^This ****e right here buried him. Was never the same dude after that brain injury. Same dude just different.

We wanted that Northwestern magic to be real. Only Sean Spence & Lavonte David were the truth. Crazy daze.

Harris in a more modern spread offense, like I hope we see this year, would've been much better. I still think he was too turnover prone to ever be truly great, no matter what system he'd played in. Tough to compare him to Williams, but he was definitely better than Marve. I'm not sure there's a QB you could put in the offense Miami ran last year, who would look legitimately good.

In hindsight, he was probably a little better than we gave him credit for while he was here.

Short/intermediate passing - good enough arm strength, pretty accurate as well. Anything deep? NOPE. I mean, don't get me wrong, he would sling it down there, but it was always a lofted moonball that the opposing S could probably signal for free catch safely as he caught it.

I always said an average between his skills and Stephen Morris' would have been an elite QB.

On one thread a guy mentioned if he was in the same spot ken Dorsey was in he would have annihilated records at UM. Is this true? I thought he was decent never great. But was he better than Marve?

The old OC Whipple didn’t help the Jacory either. He called the same plays over and over. Many of Jacory’s interceptions looked like a punt returner waiting to catch the ball because they hung in the air for 30 minutes. Defensive backs were fair catching his passes.

His Senior season he played very well..9 ints and 4 came in the season finale..only year he had a real OC who allowed him freedom at the Los
