Highsmith to the U?

thats what im saying. People like Barry Jackson and Tim Reynolds report stuff with the Admin spin on it. They don't report stuff to keep access. Streeter and X don't just say stuff. They are real plugged in with recruiting, way more than all the old media.
Those media idiots are clueless because players and staff do not trust them; therefore, they give them **** for info.

I don’t care if we get Mario or not. I want an AD that knows more than us than to play fan favorite. For example, how does the AD in Baylor know which coaches to hire? They seem like they hit on all the right coaches. That’s what I want in Miami.
Out of realistic options, Mario should be at the top of the list. He’s gunna be on a lot ppl list

How do you guys not realize that both the ad and someone like Mario would be on board…. Just because things are announced out of sequence doesn’t mean they weren’t done with all the stakeholders on board.
jfc some of you
How do you not realize I don't care about whose on board when the process is screwed up from the jump? If this board is to be believed the next AD is not actually hiring the next HC or Alonzo. Those spots are reserved. If Mario and Alonzo say no then the AD will be able to do the job they were supposedly hired for.

I was a sports admin major too. I think Zo’s experience goes beyond a support staff role. He’s the exact person you would create a football AD position for. He could still do all the things you mentioned just at a higher level with more of a staff.
Yeah we’ll see how it plays. Just seems like Zo’s bread and butter is scouting and talent evals. He even says so himself on his own LinkedIn page. It seems that’s what he’s most passionate about and in this age of Transfer Portal having someone like him on staff would be highly beneficial.

So I do think there’s a place for him at this University, I just don’t think an administrative role is the best use of his skills.

Yeah, I stand by my comments. His NFL experience is different than what is needed in a college program. If he wasn't a Miami guy nobody would care about him. It's a mistake. Find the AD first and let them build their organization instead of this homer bs.
Questions, do you know his responsibilities? How do you know the AD selection is not fully onboard? An accomplished executive from the NFL can most certainly handle associate AD tasks which I would bet would be personnel, where he would have assistants reporting to him. If they want to set up an infrastructure of analysts, then Highsmith would be more than qualified as well. We will see soon enough.

If he is hired at all. Safely as in certainly. What AD worth a **** would have that arrangement, unless it's as a AD in waiting arrangement...
Hypothetically, if he's hired in an associate athletic director role dealing strictly with football, what would be the problem. He would answer to the AD and get his marching orders from the AD. He would be closely involved with the football team, but all major decisions would likely have to go through the AD. Most schools have associate athletic directors so it's nothing new.

OR maybe they've all agreed and want to work together as a group????

Who did all the suggesting that they should work together? You think those three individuals got in a group chat and decided together and said: "If the opportunity ever arises we should all meet in Miami and bring the U back".

The person or persons who brainstormed the idea or possibly made it a condition for the new AD is the problem. They likely should be no where any decisions on how to run an athletics program and probably should just stick to writing checks.

My only concern as stated before is that if the Columbus mafia gets Mario like as proposed is that Jurich/Zo won’t be able to touch him.

Hypothetically let’s say Mario recruits out of this world to the point that his losing of games he shouldn’t (something he’s known for) is something he doesn’t grow out of and we keep bringing top 5 classes but he keeps winning 9/10 games and can’t get us over the hump. At that point you can justify moving on so the program takes the next step. I don’t see Jurich/Zo ever being able to make that type of move if Mario is the hire.

So being a scout for 10 years and visiting every college program up close seeing what works/doesn't and having personal relationships with all of the best college coaches doesn't translate? JFC there are some real mouth breathers in here.

1000% agreed. I said the same thing the other day.

But hopefully it’s an after thought

These connections seem great until **** goes wrong
