Highsmith to the U?

How do you not realize I don't care about whose on board when the process is screwed up from the jump? If this board is to be believed the next AD is not actually hiring the next HC or Alonzo. Those spots are reserved. If Mario and Alonzo say no then the AD will be able to do the job they were supposedly hired for.
You. Don’t. Know. That. It. Is.

So being a scout for 10 years and visiting every college program up close and having personal relationships with all of the best college coaches doesn't translate? JFC there are some real mouth breathers in here.
Yeah, what does being a scout have to do with running a college football program. I mean I see you are confused because the word football is involved with both but this would be a bad hire. We need to stop thinking people who are Miami guys will solve all our problems.

He’d definitely have plenty of support from important ppl
But that’s my worry. Mario becomes Teflon Don which means cronyism is still alive and well at Miami. If it’s me I need to know that if I feel that I need to move on from Cristobal for any reason that nobody will get in my way.

True. And that’s a legitimate point. But there’s no coach who can truly survive in todays game if they under achieve after 6 plus years or so..schools will push you out. Even Miami

Who did all the suggesting that they should work together? You think those three individuals got in a group chat and decided together and said: "If the opportunity ever arises we should all meet in Miami and bring the U back".

The person or persons who brainstormed the idea or possibly made it a condition for the new AD is the problem. They likely should be no where any decisions on how to run an athletics program and probably should just stick to writing checks.
All of this.

Yes scouting talent and knowing the best practices of programs/coaches like Bama, UGA, Oklahoma, etc has absolutely nothing to do with college football.

I didn't realize I was talking to Brick Tamland with your 48 IQ.

We got dudes playing college bball and playing in the NFL or QBs switching to WR/DB…but a guy with NFL front office experience can’t translate that experience to CFB??!!🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

My only concern as stated before is that if the Columbus mafia gets Mario like as proposed is that Jurich/Zo won’t be able to touch him.

Hypothetically let’s say Mario recruits out of this world to the point that his losing of games he shouldn’t (something he’s known for) is something he doesn’t grow out of and we keep bringing top 5 classes but he keeps winning 9/10 games and can’t get us over the hump. At that point you can justify moving on so the program takes the next step. I don’t see Jurich/Zo ever being able to make that type of move if Mario is the hire.
If they pulling in top 5 classes on the regular with QBs like TVD and Garcia they are gonna be winning more than 9 to 10 games a year that’s facts

Haha yessssss. Pat the Bat, Jeff Carter, Mike Richards….no female in Philly under the age of 24 was safe.
Jeff Carter - 100%. I am sure he tore up LA also after getting traded there.

There is absolutely no chance you have a higher IQ than I do.

Except The Sixers???! That’s sacrilegious!!!
Heat fan! I started hating the Sixers when they drafted Allen Iverson over Ray Allen.

Let me Edit this: I Played D1 baseball in college in Philly. Loved Ray Allen as college player. My favorite.

I then saw just about everything behind the scenes as to how Allen Iverson was because they would practice on our campus and we used the same facilities as them. Despised pretty much everything as to how he approached basketball, practise, being a teammate, etc.

Regardless of what folks think about Streeter he is credentialed. He called Blake being fired days before anyone did and was the only one with the balls to say it and make it public. I don't like how he goes about some things but he knows or is paying someone for info.
He can be as legit as he wants. But Alonzo to Miami was signed almost three weeks ago. Just in a different capacity.
