Herbie will move again

Zero chance that happens.

Oklahoma is in, Georgia is out. Especially after that massive choke job they had tonight.

I don't disagree - but the committee has to decide what they want: it's either the best teams or conf champs. End of the day - we'll end up with an 8 team playoff sooner than later.

I whish they had this system after we won our first title. We would have been in every year since that one odd game we loss here and there would have never mattered. We would have gotten rematch against ND in JJs last year.

I also think Georgia gets in. It’s about the 4 best teams and it’s pretty clear they’re one of them. Committee has shown in the past they will ignore conference champs.

Not at all. They have two losses and blew 14 point lead. The Bama rule if we get in no matter what, only applies to Bama. Dogs are out.

SEC Championship game...and all championship games should be defacto playoff games anyway. Want to expand to 8-teams? No need. Conference Championship Games already take care of this for you...unless, of course...you concoct some nonsense that make the results of them obsolete. "Eyetest" "the better team" and "strength of schedule" are some manufactured nonsense that do nothing but dismiss the results of the games that are played.

Vilma made the counter to Herbie - being that no 2 loss, non conf champ, should be considered and it should be between taint and OU, for the 4th spot. In that case it has to be OU. Taint got beat down by an unranked Purdue and OU avaenged their only loss, and nearly cut Texas' point total in half, from the first game.

Ohio State has a worse loss (Purdue)...but a better win (Michigan).
Oklahoma avenges their only loss.

I think these two have very similar resumes and if pressed, likely couldn't discern them if I had to put one in the playoffs. I just feel like the committee will give it to OU.

I think Ohio State is being a bit undersold right now.

If I am fantasy booking here...I'd put Ohio State and Oklahoma in over Notre Dame. Irish need to join a conference so they can play in a conference championship game. The free pass for them needs to end.

It's pretty simple really UGA had their chance, they had a job to do beat Alabama and they didnt, people are also forgetting they got destroyed by LSU, Oklahoma barely lost to a team they just beat by 12. Looks like ESECPN isnt the only ones drinking the juice, our own board is doing it. That's how brainwashed people are.

If they keep UGA in at #4 that would result in an immediate Bama vs UGA rematch.

Probably won't happen. I think Oklahoma is in now.

Solid points. Should be interesting to see how it shakes out and how they explain the result.

It wouldn't make sense for the #4 team to stay at #4 after a loss. Plus to deny teams that did win their conference championship a shot is egregious. Georgia loss. Twice. They're out. Try again next year and stop choking to Alabama.

I agree on the Bother Dame point. I do believe OU should clearly get in over OSU. Purdue went 6-6, and IMO wins over WVU and Texas are both better than Michigan, which is again my opinion.

When Georgia went up by 2 TDs, I went full conspiracy theorist that the SEC was trying to get 2 SEC teams in the playoff by having Georgia beat Bama. Since they didn't, Georgia is out.

Barring a Pitt miracle, it will be Bama, Clemson, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma.

I'd love to see UCF get in over Oklahoma though, but it won't happen.

At this point, the NCAA should make a separate level for Group of 5 conferences at this point, call it FBS II or something so they could win a national title for their level. Those teams do not have a chance at winning a national title, especially when one of them has won 25 straight games and haven't even sniffed a chance at the playoff.

Only issue with Oklahoma is that they were in dog fights ALL YEAR because of that defense.

Iowa State
Army
First Texas game
Texas Tech
Oklahoma State
West Virginia
they even allowed Kansas to stay within two scores of them

Oklahoma really isn't all that great, but here we are.

Once again..UGA just matches up well against Bama. From familiarity to athletes to style of play..ND I feel is so overrated..Ohio st can play with anybody

A final four of:

Bama
Clemson
ND
OSU*

?

If that happens I may have to find a different sport to follow.

He just said
1. Bama
2. Clemson
3. UGA
4. ND

Then went on to say - "I don't get caught up in conf champs - I get caught up in who's best". Taint nation believes they should be in the 4 spot conversation, so this is sure to bring the "burn Herbstreit" pitchforks out.
OU didn’t get all those favorable PI calls for nothing. They’re getting in
