That cop could not have been nicer to him. As he’s talking to him, the cop is actually suggesting possible alibis for Callaway to say, saying things like “maybe you had a friend in here earlier” I mean he gave him every opportunity to come up with some more realistic alibi “he could’ve said I picked up a hitchhiker blah blah...”
