Jaiden Bryant is a Miami Hurricane.

The 6'4, 245 five-star DE from Columbia, South Carolina officially flipped from LSU to the Canes on Wednesday night. He is the #20 overall player in America, but as I wrote three months ago on the Bank, the staff has long valued Bryant as a top-of-the-board player:

The Canes are focused on elite players on the edge. Jaiden Bryant (Columbia, SC) might be the best player in America. He is committed to LSU but visiting the Canes on May 29th. Expect a full-court press.

Bryant was South Carolina's Co-Defensive Player of the Year, finishing his junior season with 79 tackles (23 TFL), 11 sacks, 6 FR and 1 INT. His Irmo team went 12-2 and made South Carolina’s Class AAAAA Division 2 title game.



On the track, he holds a PR of 52'1 in the shotput and also throws discus and javelin. His power has been compared to Rueben Bain, and he also has the athleticism to play offense.

Bryant visited this past weekend and told CanesInSight's Sebastian Font, “it's definitely heavy knowing Miami got two first rounders with the same coach [Jason Taylor], that’s a key piece to my recruitment.” He also praised DC Corey Hetherman: “I love the scheme — vertical upfield, my type of playstyle, my type of defense. I definitely love it.”



Bryant is Miami's 18th commit in the 2027 and its fourth five-star commit.

I said then & I'll say it now;

NIL is the GREATEST thing that ever happened to College Football.

We tried to tell everyone that once pay was over the table instead of under the table, UM and a few other programs would have the advantage. Our billionaire boosters were never going to hand out $20,000 duffel bags. But once NIL provided a legitimate avenue, those same boosters could do so much more than duffel bags of cash.

What we could not have definitively known was that UM would hire the right coach to also take advantage of NIL and UM’s resources. Mario and the refocused administration have put it all together and created a football machine.

 

I mean what more could anyone want??? I was only hoping to be competitive and respected again. What a job these last two years here by Mario. I could literally cry I’m so happy to see the success and good fortune.

Been following Mario since FIU and was ecstatic when we got him cause I knew he would elevate the U from mediocrity just off talent acquisition alone, THIS is what Miami football is supposed to look like. Feels amazing

This is my favorite recruit on the defensive side of the ball for this recruiting cycle. Young man is a beast. Amazing get my Mario, Heatherman, JT, DLew and the staff.

Cristobal has used the portal AT LEAST as effective as Kiffin ever did. I guess they don't know that. Just b/c we're now signing what looks like it will be a top 3 class doesn't mean we're abandoning the portal.
