Even Ferman is taking the gloves off

Highsmith as Football Czar
Cristobal as HC
Jeff Lebby as OC
Kevin Patrick as Dline Coach
TRob as Co-DC
Etc......

Go Canes
bring in orgeron for defensive coordinator. could probably get him on the cheap with the money LSU owes him

I remember reading on here that Rudy Fernandez was one of the biggest advocates for hiring Mancheese. So Ferman better cool it with the Rudy worship.

Miami would be foolish to think that just because the members of the BOT are successful in their own fields, or that Rudy Fernandez worked in the Bush White House, that intrinsically these people can make good hires across any industry. No, history shows you guys don't understand football. The only takeaway they should get from reading that Gary piece is what we've all been saying here all along: get a qualified, experienced CEO to run the AD, give him/her the money and resources needed to entice a proper HC and proceed to stay the fvck away.

So what does that all mean in terms of getting things started? FIRE BLAKE JAMES NOW.

It’s insane Blake James is still employed at this point lol the football team is the worst tackling team I’ve ever seen and constantly plays below their talent level. The basketball team is being run by a guy who owes King Tut 5 bucks and can’t field a team with more than 6 scholarship players every year. The baseball team is absolutely pathetic with the tomato family at the helm. Your big 3 sports and they are all embarrassing!!! Must be nice to cash checks to not perform every year.

But there is an understanding that a greater investment in things such as quality and more seasoned coaches and personnel in general within the athletic department must be made and that those individuals then must be given the resources to succeed in their jobs.

What resources is Miami currently missing compared to the top dogs of CFB? And I'm speaking more than just spending money on coaching staff.

Others that have more current info can chime in, but the U Health purchase was virulently opposed by a number of fiscally responsible BOT's and was indeed a disaster early on. Norman Braman, who is as smart an individual as one can find, even resigned from the BOT. Perhaps donations and covid funding has turned that operation around, but I truly find it impossible to believe that is the reason we suddenly have bitcoin to properly run an athletic operation.
Admittedly I am not that informed about the UHealth history. I do remember reading that it was a boondoggle initially, although that was several years ago and, as you mentioned, may have turned around since then. I could be reading incorrectly but the article seemed to suggest that the UHealth system has been the primary driver of increased revenue and the reason the university is now flush with cash.

Respectfully disagree. Again lots of pieces are there. Bottom line is this squad has been built from the back forward. It will never work for getting to that level. With the exception of CCST, every squad we’ve played, including App St, has gotten the better of us on both lines of scrimmage. Unacceptable.
I am not saying we are that good..I am saying the ACC is that bad. I think most agree the majority of our problems stem from coaching and scheme.

If we are saying its not a talent issue, then we should be 5-1 at the moment. With the ACC title being in our sights.

Posters keep waiting for that "UNC 2020" type loss this year to be the final dagger for Manny but I have a feeling that type of loss never comes. We will definitely lose to NC State and Pitt but not in blow out fashion imo. VT, GT, Duke and FSU absolutely arent blowing us out. Thats talent taking over when coaching just isnt there. We can agree to disagree. This has been probably the most disappointing season since the 2005 season IMO. So its all moot anyway.
Agree to a degree. But when you get there you get boat raced or you are left out because it’s perceived as smoke and mirrors. Sadly this was completely avoidable. Someone I have a great deal of trust in described Manny’s personnel priorities as that of a 12 year old playing the old NCAA EA games. Hence the deplorable o-line, sub-par d-line, and LB play. We all see it, just not as up close as my contact. Said it’s a recipe for failure.

The ex players and a handful of BOT are all in on Mario. Ferman feels that should be enough to get it done And he’s probably right. Frenk just wants it to go away.

Manny’s refusal to go after LB help in the portal is the prime example

He hired Patke, with a worse resume than Jon Richt at the time, to be the 10th coach rather than see what the best options available were

We got lucky the T Stevenson wanted to come home or our CB position would be even worse than it is

I won’t recite the 100+ examples of why Manny has failed do miserably. I hope every one of the examples gets thrown in BJ’s face right before they fire him

"As the Canes Nation frets over if and when Football Coach Manny Diaz will be fired, and whether Athletic Director Blake James will remain in charge of the department moving forward, the University is very quietly working behind the scenes to transform the way it will conduct business in athletics."

I didn't get that from the article, just that his future was speculative.
That’s what he’s been told with it culminating with Alonzo and Mario.

But have they paid it off yet? Because with the offices they have and the services they provide, they should be doing well. Outpatient is where the money is.
I don't know how they structured it. They did take out a tax exempt bond in 2007, but I am not sure if it was used for that.

Fernandez' resume:

As Senior Vice President for Public Affairs and Communications and Chief of Staff, Fernandez has been Frenk's most-trusted aide in his time as President. His primary role has been nurturing relationships with federal, state and local government entities and serving as the chief legislative strategist.

Fernandez oversees the Division of University Communications, which stewards the brand and shares stories of the university's impact. He created the Public Affairs division at the University to better coordinate all communication and external relations efforts. As Chief of Staff, Fernandez works with other campus leaders in developing and implementing long-range strategy on behalf of the institution.

Prior to joining the university in 2007 as vice president for government and community relations, Fernandez spent over a decade in Washington, DC. He was Special Assistant to the President in the George W. Bush White House. He also held senior positions in the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Bush-Cheney 2004 Campaign and the Republican National Committee.
Wasn't Fernandez one of the main advocates for rushing to hire Manny when Ritch retired?

This all sounds good - business approach and Miami has money ,etc. The problem is everyone in college football has decent money. Maybe not Alabama and Ohio State money, but there isn't the disparity of years past. So, not as easy as just flipping a switch.

What has trob done to be considered dc? Rumph was better respectfully 💯
