DONT KILL THE MESSENGER

NO WAY IN **** is Hue Jackson coming here. He's all NFL. He's been waiting for an NFL gig for a minute. His name is always thrown out for NFL positions. We ain't his alma mater so therefore he's not going to just give us love. He's all NFL...I repeat, ALL NFL.

Let's say he is the leading candidate and gets the job, first chance at an NFL gig he will bolt, and we are back at square one.

And the reason he would get that job is because he had success at Miami. Isn't this what we want? Our coaches to be wanted at the pro-level?

Just worry about the now.

I
maaaan, forget this....why in the **** are we not boycotting until we get Butch and Butch only? Don't want to hear about no other name except Butch, period.

The problem is that way too many top Board Members think that Butch left for the Browns in the middle of contract negotiations with the University and won't hire him under any circumstances. I don't know which Board Members, but Fain of Royal Caribbean is believed to be one, at least from what I've read here.

stuart miller's dad hired butch to save this program and he did exactly that. it is clear now based on Corbin's work, shalala was jerking him so she could bring in barry alvarez.

Right, I know Miller was pro-Butch, but what about Fain? Or doesn't he give a rat's a$$ about the program and is just counting pennies?

I heard today from a reliable person in the know that they wanted to make the move this weekend but once again, the buyout is a huge obstacle. It probably won't happen till the end of the season.

They also told me the top candidate is... Hue Jackson. Offensive Coordinator of the Bengals.

I'm honestly not sure what to make of it, if that is in fact the move.

Lmao

I would not underrate Hue Jackson.

He will be in the mix for NFL head coaching positions but I've heard he is interested in returning to college.

The only people underrating Hue are the ones who can't look past Butch or just don't follow the nfl.

Jackson is going to get an NFL coaching gig no doubt. He's not coming here. There's 1 simple answer and his name is Butch Davis

Jackson also has college experience. From what I understand, he was known as an ace recruiter at USC and helped land Carson Palmer and Troy Polamalu.

So Nate Webster was banging his16 year old daughter..and family claims daughter set him up...Dam he might try to harm The U..Do Not Want

Put him at the top of the list with Butch, Chud and Herman.. God knows he would be better than Cristobal, Kiffin etc.. This isn't bad news. Our BOT's can do wayyyyyyy worse.

And if this guy comes and jets to the NFL in a couple years then that means he made us respectable again... I'll take that.

Here's the problem with that.

The loss to Ohio State in 2003 killed this program and put it into a tailspin. We never recovered from that. Following that defeat, institutional rot and corruption, combined with increasingly incompetent coaching and and administration, led to a steep decline in a once dominant program.

We don't need someone who looks at the Gables as a pit stop between Cincinnati and the New England Job when Belichick retires. This program needs direction, leadership, and commitment for the long term.

The logical thing to do is to commit to Butch for five years to restore the program to national dominance, wall off the State of Miami, and put the butts in the seats.

It's such an easy step, any one of us would pay the buyout, because the financial return in the out years from television and Adidas would be enough to help offset UHealth while the Administrative people restored that end of the University to financial health. But the people on the Board have to get past what happened after the Peach Bowl back in 2001.

Yup. When Hue was the coach and the Raiders traded for Carson Palmer there was a lot of talk at the time about those guys reuniting after Carson was recruited to USC by Hue.
