Didn't know the stuff about his daughter and Nate. Dang.
Perhaps this is the Board's way of saying EFF YOU to the fan base and saying they're never bringing back Butch.
Fools. Butch would be a gold mine for this University.
NO WAY IN **** is Hue Jackson coming here. He's all NFL. He's been waiting for an NFL gig for a minute. His name is always thrown out for NFL positions. We ain't his alma mater so therefore he's not going to just give us love. He's all NFL...I repeat, ALL NFL.
Let's say he is the leading candidate and gets the job, first chance at an NFL gig he will bolt, and we are back at square one.
And the reason he would get that job is because he had success at Miami. Isn't this what we want? Our coaches to be wanted at the pro-level?
Just worry about the now.
Here's the problem with that.
The loss to Ohio State in 2003 killed this program and put it into a tailspin. We never recovered from that. Following that defeat, institutional rot and corruption, combined with increasingly incompetent coaching and and administration, led to a steep decline in a once dominant program.
We don't need someone who looks at the Gables as a pit stop between Cincinnati and the New England Job when Belichick retires. This program needs direction, leadership, and commitment for the long term.
The logical thing to do is to commit to Butch for five years to restore the program to national dominance, wall off the State of Miami, and put the butts in the seats.
It's such an easy step, any one of us would pay the buyout, because the financial return in the out years from television and Adidas would be enough to help offset UHealth while the Administrative people restored that end of the University to financial health. But the people on the Board have to get past what happened after the Peach Bowl back in 2001.
I don't give a ***. I just want to win now. If they want to leave after winning, so be it. We can get another coach. There is more than one.
How many insiders we going to have by the end of the year?
I'm no insider but I do know somebody that I'd consider to be an insider. Majority of the stuff he says has been legit. That's over six years of knowing him.
When the firing rumors started last year he told me Hue wanted the job bad, and had been in contact with UM through Email.
Dear Miami,
I want the Head Coaching Job.
Sincerly,
Hue Jackson
Hmm, I actually trust you wherrererararearrear. Hue Jackson though. I remember him being with my Skins way back when. Anybody able to think of why him?
He went 8-8 with the Raiders , so that's the equilivent of going 14-2 anywhere else.

Couple of things with Hue Jack on why I think its BS..
1. The guy is inline to be an NFL HC ... why go back to college
2. Hasn't coached/Recruited in 15 years... the game has changed
3. He'll probably be in the playoffs... so the recruiting aspect will be handcuffed
Really good NFL coach.... don't know if he's a FIT for the college atmosphere of today.

Sounds like what everyone said about Al -- He won at Temple. We have three former Miami coaches that have experience losing at crappy NFL franchises. Two have additional HC experience in college. No sure why the guy.

The Dolphins make more sense for this guy. Gets him to a no-state income tax state. Gets him an HC job in the AFC East so he can go up against the Patriots twice a year AND helps Ross with the Rooney Rule.
If they got close to canning him this weekend.... Wait until next... That will do it
