Here's the problem with that.

The loss to Ohio State in 2003 killed this program and put it into a tailspin. We never recovered from that. Following that defeat, institutional rot and corruption, combined with increasingly incompetent coaching and and administration, led to a steep decline in a once dominant program.

We don't need someone who looks at the Gables as a pit stop between Cincinnati and the New England Job when Belichick retires. This program needs direction, leadership, and commitment for the long term.

The logical thing to do is to commit to Butch for five years to restore the program to national dominance, wall off the State of Miami, and put the butts in the seats.

It's such an easy step, any one of us would pay the buyout, because the financial return in the out years from television and Adidas would be enough to help offset UHealth while the Administrative people restored that end of the University to financial health. But the people on the Board have to get past what happened after the Peach Bowl back in 2001.

I don't give a ***. I just want to win now. If they want to leave after winning, so be it. We can get another coach. There is more than one.

Thank you. I can't see this guy stepping down from a playoff bound Bengals team to the Canes unless the Board promised him total control and a blank check. They weren't willing to give that to Gruden, why should they give it to this guy?

I can see the Dolphins picking him up. They're desperate. They'd hire Al.
 
Flip Phones were invented in 1996, 3 years before Hue Jackson left college for the NFL.

By contrast, the IPhone 1 came out a year after Coker was fired, 8 years after Jackson coached a college athlete.

Yep, seems like a move the BoT would make.

I remember a while back maybe January a guy was on here saying that he interned with a group of agents and one of their clients was Hue Jackson and Miami was a gig they were looking at to come open for him...

WHo the **** wants to be an offensive coordinator their whole life after being a head coach? YEs I would love him for the dolphins or the hurricanes..More the hurricanes... Only problem we may have is EX canes players with the whole Nate Webster thing..I grew up with nate know his mom.... This chick lied on the stand got him some extra years...However dude had no business banging a 15 year old..

Al's buyout supposedly goes down drastically after season. It'll have to be an epic collapse for him to go down during the season. Which if anybody can do it it's Al

This was put out there, somewhere along the line of that Trustee disclosing to Barry Jackson that BoT recognized that coaching is reason for Football mediocrity...yeah right. it took national reporters to write, ad nauseam, that Golden is the worse coach, and NOW Trustee realize that. They buying for time, that's what; these indecisive incompetents!

Now that I think about it this is exactly what UM would do. Hire a ****** coach who raised a ***** daughter and got a former football player a long prison sentence.

Last time he was in college he was in control of the offense for some of the worst USC teams in recent memory.

Short of bringing in Butch Davis, this class will fall apart..not because Hue is bad at recruiting ( probably great) but nobody knows him in South Florida. Al will **** the season away so that's not going to help...
We can't steal the OC of an NFL team mid season anyway.... Won't happen unless he gets fired

I'm no insider but I do know somebody that I'd consider to be an insider. Majority of the stuff he says has been legit. That's over six years of knowing him.

When the firing rumors started last year he told me Hue wanted the job bad, and had been in contact with UM through Email.
