I don't know if he wants to come or how strong his desire to come is. But "going home and being close to family" could be a powerful excuse especially if his parents, his in-laws and extended family are in Miami. I don't now if that's the case though.

If the university is committed it will work. Richt was washed we knew that. Richt was a bad hire I said that day 1. He just had got fired

Mario is an alpha. Lane is a brash punk. Complete difference.

Not saying Lane Kiffin would be a bad hire, but being a prick doesn't make him an alpha.

You see the way Mario got in the face of his player for acting a fool and over-celebrating; the kid just standing there, taking it and delivering a "yes sir".

THAT is how kids respond to an alpha coach. Manny's kids are playing with chains and rings in losing efforts and in games they're getting their teeth kicked in.

Mario was a GA for three years under Butch, spent three years under Greg Schiano at Rutgers, six years learning the hard way as head coach at FIU and four years under Nick Saban at Alabama.

Dude would be a fantastic hire for Miami at this phase of his career—and would dig in to fix his alma mater, rebuilding the right way. Kiffin would stick around until the next better gig opened up and would haul *** back to the NFL In a heartbeat if given the chance.
