I went to fsu, every dollar paid for.

Only ever wore one piece of fsu apparel ever, for one day my girlfriend at the time, now wife, made a bet that I lost and I made her take me to the garnet and gold store and bought the literal cheapest T-shirt in the store. Never wore it again.
I was across the tracks at FAMU. ROTC scholly, felt good not having to pay for school. Only bad part was being in Tally from 2011-2015, so this was during their rise up and national title with Jameis.

Huge difference in $$$ for similar level education. Pay $60K in tuition alone for UM, or $7K for UF? I know that decision would have been very easy in my family as a child.

Same except I was at TCC and playing Rugby for FAMU. The Ramblin Rattlers Baby! Having to watch FSU be good while my Canes were ******* horrendous from enemy territory was a struggle. I drank a LOT. Plus side was I would pregame with FSU fans for games and when they all left for the stadium we would just raid coolers and head back to our house with enough beer and food to party all night.

I wanted that story to end with "and then I used it as toilet paper"...

UF is ranked 7th in the country for public universities. If you're not insane, it's a pretty easy decision if they hand you a scholarship.

I bet there are a lot of UM grads that grew up and still are fans of other programs.
Most people don’t change their love for their home town team because they got the opportunity to go to college somewhere else.

I got my degree by taking college classes through the military’s contract with U. of Maryland.
I’ve been a Canes fan since I was 14 because I grew up in SFLA. Same reason I was a Dolphins fan since age 8, despite living in Cleveland from age 8-16, but returned to SFLA from 16 to 38, other than my military years.

I did become an Indians fan because SFLA didn’t have a MLB team and never became a Braves fan unlike most people from WPB my age, despite spring training being a couple miles from my house. When the Marlins came along, I tried but couldn’t switch.

Loyalty is a funny thing.
They got a nice training facility by palm beach lakes hs

Any fsu fan will tell you most UM fans didn’t go to school there. They can’t comprehend being a fan before they went to college.

It's a fair point.

If you grow up in Hogtown or Talla****inghassee, or your parents are alums, then you might root for UF/F$U before you go there.

But if you grow up in South or Central Florida, you have a decent chance of rooting for Miami well before you choose an institute of higher education.

idk, I don't know if you're a true fan of this team if you didn't drop six figures in student loans to attend the school on a pre-law track.

There are levels to this.

Central Gulf coast and Space coast of FL were and are infested with Noles and Gators.. like sharks to blood they scour the rivers and beaches looking to prey on unsuspecting people who haven't found their fandom.. I refused to be deceived by these clowns, followed my heart to the guys wearing Orange and Green and dominating specifically Dorsey, Edge, Morgan, Najeh, pulled me in.

I'm lucky to have made it out alive at such a young impressionable age
