Golden was thought of highly as a great recruiter, Miami was sooooooooooo behind on soo many things he had to bring us on back end to new age of football, we werent even doing camps the way everyone was doing and raiding our talent. I think Urban introduced that concept of Friday night lights, corch randy was like we dont need all them camps..

Golden was an ******* for hiring his butt buddy and putting their friendship above his job he was hired to do as HC by university but he got royally screwed over with the Nevin thing, you could see progress in recruiting and they were going hard.. All went out window when that **** hit the fan.. Unfortunately Golden used to renegoitiate with the idiots at the hecht and he had built in excuse to suck for multiple years.. good times

Golden wasn't really making progress in recruiting. 33% of his classes were gone--kicked out of school or transferred out within 2 years.

Not even. Randy played on national championship teams and won the Broyles. He also had some very good defenses. His personality alone made him unfit to lead the program. The guy had no coaching contacts. He left Miami for about a year and a half with Dallas before he was cut. Most idiotic hire since well Diaz.

D Hester had 4 ints & 1 Fumble Return as a Sophomore. Lol. His reward? Sparingly played, used exclusively as a return man.

Thank you Randy, b/c had u not misused him, I’m not sure Hester would’ve fell to my Bears lap in the 2nd round. He was looked as a gadget player vs a CB/Def player. Thank u for that….

With that being said, Fck u Randy for tricking off season after season by not playing the best players. This **** started this trend as a DC & somehow, The Hecht thought it would be a grandiose idea to promote this ******* as our HC, huh? Forget this team was a laughing stock & a National Embarrassment under Coker w/ this dude as a DC, plus he was a complete hole of the ****** to the players on his side of the ball.

And yet, here we are, 14 yrs later & we’re still ?ing decision making on from our admin when it comes to coaching hires. Unbelievable. Oh, and a FSU player is being advertised as our poster child for the upcoming baseball season. Lol. This school, man; inept from top to bottom.

All our coaches get an early recruiting bump, followed by a increasingly shltty classes.

For real. Hiring Shannon was the beginning of the end though.

I can understand why they hired Coker. Even the players supported him and he was from the previous regime, a team that should've played in the national title game.

But hiring Shannon? Who was from the 7-6 team that needed to "pulled an upset" over a 8-win Nevada team on Boise's blue turf, who had been embarrassed by Louisville that very same year and GT and LSU the year before? Who was part of the FIU brawl team? Who had no head coaching experience, and no personality or charisma whatsoever? That hire made ZERO sense, not at the time and definitely not in hindsight.

Today it plays out as the criticism of the Turnover Chain and rings.

When you suck, the problem isn’t name tags or jewelry.

Why did this have to come out now? FSU fans were wanting randy as there next DC lol. Taking the names off the jersey was some middle school stuff, even Coach K gets clowned for doing that stuff now.
