I remember at the time all the Coker/Shannon defenders said that Hester must be stupid and really bad otherwise the coaches would just play him.

This is one of many reasons why you don't fall in love with a coach like a cult leader. People who never played have no idea what goes on in these places.

A: But what history? My best friend Walter Odom got killed at the University of Florida, shot, when I was at school at the University of Miami.

According to Miami Herald archives, Odom was never shot or killed at the University of Florida. He was, however, stabbed at a party in Gainesville in 1989. It was two years after he was done playing as a Gator. Odom, a standout at American High who befriended Shannon in Northwest Miami, later died in 2002 from a long illness at age 36.

**** YEA!! Anybody who follows UM ball and knows how Randy is KNOWS it played out like that.. These corches have egos and they do dumb **** like that. I remember Hester leading the team in picks! I remember them opening the gates for the spring game and alllllllllll The kids and abuelas running to HESTER to get signatures! He had talent ANYBODY could recognize but only at UM we couldnt get him on the field! He was supposed to be on Reggie Bush/Ted Ginn impact player level, dude is a HOF in NFL but sits bench in college..

We still deal with this **** to this day, these corches keep players like Rousseau on bench til mid season and we only got 6 games because they want some bull**** their way.. Randy was PETTY AF, He would play guys like Glenn Cook over others because he felt they did it "the right way".. We are cursed with these weirdos mane..

@Problem2 I knew about this in 05...it was my Son's 2nd yr at UM....Devin at that time was dating UM Hoops star Tamara James...and before picking her up from practice...I was hanging out with him as he was walking his Pit Bull puppy near the practice gym next to Hecht...and we were talking about this EXACT same thing....Me and @Poopscoop tried telling y'all how bad Onion was for the program....He treated Willie Williams in a kinda similar fashion....
