Exactly. The NFL with combines, scouts and lots of $ can't accurate pick a QB 3 years out of college. Why would anyone think you can evaluate a 17 yo kid to be your college qb?

This came up when Nico signed that crazy deal with Tennessee

I was like whelp seriously a high school QB can kick rocks

I actually very much like what we are doing at the position. Nickel and Coleman are both legit prospects that likely didnt break the bank and (so far) played absolutely zero NIL games

If one or both of them blow up then perfect. If not just do what we are doing and go get someone from the portal

Signing a top ranked high school QB right now is risky as ****

I agree with the approach. I feel like we put all our eggs in the Cam basket, learned from that and cast a wider net before Beck committed last cycle. Just don't get caught with our pants down.

It’s all risky I suppose and people will probably take what I’m saying too literally

I’ve got a lot of Mario criticisms but I think QB is being handled pretty well

If you think Mario is going Ward to Beck to Emory you're insane.

The real talking point is that Mario needs to secure the portal spot much earlier then the two previous years. If anyone other than a portal QB is starting next year it's either because Nickel became a superstar or we struck out in the portal.

Because it's no guarantee you'll get that QB. I don't know what goes on behind the scenes but the last two seemed 50/50 at best with no real back up plan.

Because we won't always get the best QB in the portal and might not get one at all. Why do you assume the best QB in the portal will always want to come to Miami? We need to recruit the position better
