Disappointed by his technique overall
The difference is that the LT protects the QBs “blindside” (if he’s a right handed passer…. all of the time) most of the time, Therefore, he needs to be more of an athlete because of all the genetic freaks that he’s gotta try to keep from killing his QB.Whats the difference from LT?
Another McNally disciple! One arm is longer than 2!

Traditionally the RT doesn't face the twitchy speed rushers as much as the LT does. The RT faces bigger stronger type DEs. The LT also protects the QBs blindside(unless QB is a lefty) and is considered the most important and most difficult position to play on the OL. LTs are also paid the most generally speaking.
He looked pretty **** stiff to me.![]()
He struggled against a group of future doctors, lawyers, and CDL drivers at FAMUDoesn’t look like he should be on the field against ACC competition this year. Not ready to go. I know nothing about developing OL so who knows what they’ll turn him into. I’m a believer but let’s be real he struggled against FAMU
Fair enough.I expect the OLine to be top 10 as long as Cristobal is here.
He looked good overall because he's playing FCS level players. What does this mean? Not trying to be a jerk, just curious how it being FAMU matters?
Whats with this stiff stuff..simon says every body says….smh…. Your stiff!!I think he's a little stiff, I'm hopeful that Mirabal can turn him into a force at LT like he has done for Rivers
Think that’s the hope that at some point that LT job is either Mauigoa or SamsonsI played OT back in highschool, bell looks more like a right tackle in terms of his feet. I think We should swap Mauigoa to left tackle next year. IMO rt is a little easier to play than left tackle
Very interesting and informative. I knew I was really over generalizing and that the game has evolved but I was trying to be as basic as possible. You really get into the details here and like I said your post is extremely informative.Fully disagree. The "taditionally" part that you began that sentence with is why it's wrong. Sure traditionally that is the case. Traditionally doesn't apply today. Today, DEs move around a lot more - especially following the offensive strength/TE. So unless we are an offense that for some reason is putting the TE on the Right 60% of the time, there will basically be no difference. And defenses should absolutely be smart enough to move a DE around to create best matchups. Also I'd bet almost every top EDGE in the country/NFL would be listed primarily as a LE, not RE, which would match them up against the RT.
The two largest OT contracts in the NFL right now are Tristan Wirfs and Penei Sewell, both of whom are/were RTs (Wirfs played his first 4 years at RT, then switched to LT last year). And pretty sure the reason they switched Wirfs to LT was they lost their LT to FA, and they had Luke Goedeke in line to become starter - and he was also a RT. And he had moved from TE to RT at Central Michigan, and that's all he's ever played. So I don't even think Wirfs moving was for the "traditional" reason either, I think it was literally because they trusted him being able to play both more than Goedeke.
The only reason to be swapping LT/RT is for what the actual player is more comfortable with especially since they usually play one side like their entire college career and to get the best 5 on the field.

How about now…He can’t pass block but he can run block. Not much to debate there in my opinion.
He was great last night. How about now…
