Ugh. Bad memory of Melvin Brattton....
Sam Bradford busted his shoulder and still went #1. And this kid is better than Bradford.
It has been about 10 seasons of fail on the field for Bradford in the NFL but Herbert is not a better player than Bradford at the same point in their careers.
good one! It’s a mistake because 31 years ago one of our guys got hurt.
Why do u think he’s a better NFL prospect than Sam was at the time? He’s good don’t get me wrong. But sams only issue has been injury in the league. He’s not a bust cause he can’t play. Just get injured too muchSam Bradford busted his shoulder and still went #1. And this kid is better than Bradford.

Fair. But at the same time, a big reason to go to college is to increase your earning potential. A vast majority of student athletes have either a slim chance or no chance at all of being a pro athlete. If a kid like Herbert has that chance (current guarantee) and if they want to go pro, might as strike while the irons hot. Get the degree later. That’s poor advice for guys on the bubble but not potential first round picks.Wish more kids cared about education and commitment, especially at Miami
Mario is a good coach and he is getting into the swing of things at Oregon. Mario left UM because JJ told him he would be a fool not to go to bama to learn from Saban. Mario is a winner and will only get better.

There’s really no debate from a business standpoint.
You don't know why he got fired at FIU, and he took FIU to two bowl games. He got fired from FIU. Apparently he can't win in the 305.
Bradford is the greatest con man who ever lived. He has made $129 million and he's never been good. Never had a winning record, never started a playoff game. Tebow only started one season and accomplished more. I salute his agent but Bradford is a JAG.
Of course there is. Herbert may not be ready for the pros. He knows himself better than anyone. If he goes out there and struggles, he loses out on the real money-- the second contract.
The evidence is overwhelming that four-year QBs do better in the league.
Do some research on his time at FIU.He got fired from FIU. Apparently he can't win in the 305.
correctDisagree with Bradford never being good.
3800 yards, 71% completion, 20 TD, 5 TD is a **** good season.

Athletic Director Pete Garcia and Cristobal had a power struggle behind the scenes. Pretty much Garcia didn't like the fact that Cristobal was getting a ton of credit for reviving the football program. Cristobal wanted more commitment from administration as far as an improvement in facilities and marketing the program, but Garcia didn't want to do those things. Hey Pete how does your neck feel after you got choke slammed. You don't know why he got fired at FIU, and he took FIU to two bowl games.
No, it wasn't. Bradford averaged 7.0 yards per attempt (tied with Trevor Simien for 20th) and his team went 8-8. That's dinking and dunking.
The great Case Keenum replaced him and went 11-3 the next year. Bradford sucks.
It’s still a good season, man.
72% is a very hard number to hit.
Leinhart would’ve been 1st overall had he come out early. It definitely hurt him.Didn’t end up hurting Luck or Leinart.
