So…Mario needs to demonstrate that he can’t win a big game with a playoff spot on the line so that Miami can have a sliver of a chance of hiring him away from Oregon?

Okay, I think I’ve got it now.

No you have it wrong.

If he doesn't lose another regular season game we have no shot at him.

Also,

If he loses another regular season game we don't want him.

LoL, good for you. As if the guy is not smart enough to understand, what type of skill set is in South Florida nor understand what it would take to win the conference. I get why he wants to run the ball and play good defense and special teams. It is an element you need once you get into the playoff system. Finesse teams like Oklahoma get beaten like a drum. Even last year, Alabama was a 50/50 team. Of course, if I was throwing to Smith, Waddle and Metchie, I tossed it just about every down.

Also,

HE'S LITERALLY ******* FROM MIAMI PLAYED AT MIAMI WON AT MIAMI RECRUITS IN MIAMI and... dear lord I quit. Take me out, bro.

We're asking professionalism and intelligence from the admin on reshapping the AD, but some people are demanding the admin to throw $8m down the drain (+/- $2m to fire Diaz now instead of after the season and around $6m to get Mario in december instead of january), because we "need" things to be announced public RIGHT NOW.

Even if Mario comes, I doubt he leaves without trying to keep Oregon's class as intact as possible.

Let Manny finish the season ffs, the team is playing hard, nobody is quitting, the team is not getting blown out. No upside in removing him right now. No recruit will look at us diff just because we fired Manny today

Orgeron terminated what about one month ago? Class is ranked 12th currently…Manolo still HC with a recruiting class currently ranked 59th…

What a disastrous mistake from the numb nuts in charge…

I just spent some time on the Oregon 247 message boards. A few things:

1. They LOVE Mario. They praise the depth on the roster, the toughness & discipline of the team, his integrity & work ethic... basically everything about him.

2. Not 1 person on their boards thinks he is leaving for Miami (or anywhere else). A few points they made towards this: supposedly he is moving his mother to Eugene after the season; supposedly his wife doesn't want to raise the kids in Miami; he would be the first coach to win a natty at Oregon, whereas he would be just the latest at Miami; it would be a complete rebuild, while he has the roster in place there to compete in the next few years; facilities could never match theirs; loyalty for giving him the HC job after FIU let him go; Miami will always be there for him if and when he wants it (their mod said this).

3. They said there is a guy that now writes for scoop duck (on3 Oregon site), that used to post on the 247 oregon board under the handle MiamiDuck or Jhop. Supposedly he played with Mario, and he had scoops on Mario being contacted by Auburn last year and a few other things. This guy says Mario isn't leaving, and they are all confident that when this guy speaks, he is correct. @SWFLHurricane any guesses who this is?

Everyone seems to forget that the Oregon coach prior to Cristobal left them for his "dream job" which happened to be a dumpster fire in Tallahassee. I guess UM "fans" must think FSU HC is a much better job than Oregon HC, which would explain why Taggart would leave all that Nike money for a sub .500 FSU.
And he had no ties to fsu.

Took 5 years to get his family to move up there?

No idea...

His mom was recently in the hospital. Having a procedure, not sure of what for (elective or needed). Mario was here for it, had a friend tracking flights from there to here. A private plan came in during that time. I want to say it was after the Michigan State game.
Why did you have a friend tracking flights you psychopath?

It’s funny how these boards work in these coaching situations lol.

He’s moving mom after the season? Sure. Why not now? Why not 2 months ago? With the money he’s about to be making he can move Mom to Oregon whenever. If he takes another job, he can move her wherever. My guess is mom ain’t too excited about moving to Oregon.

I’m sure next we will hear Mario just refinanced his house. He may or may not come to miami, but moving mom only after the season is pretty funny.

Oregon couldn’t keep Willie Taggart.

The biggest concern with Mario isn’t the facilities. It’s the players he recruited. He wants to coach them and believes he can win big. That’s what we need to overcome.
The difference is now the transfer portal exists and some could transfer if they wanted.....

I'm not questioning whether you observed such posts, or whether that is what Oregon fans are saying now.

But the substance of your summary is hilarious for either being "yeah, we love him NOW" or just flat out inaccurate and false.

For instance, I was unaware that Oregon gave Mario the HC job after FIU let him go. It's almost as if Mario never accepted jobs at UM (briefly) or Alabama (longer). But, sure, he's gonna be SUPER-loyal to his third employer after the FIU job. After all, nobody ever hires the graduates of the Nick Saban Coaching Rehab Clinic. I've heard that Lane Kiffin is super-loyal to FAU for giving him a job after USC let him go...

USC terminated Helton after 2 games. There have 7 commits and are currently behind us.

Louisiana kids are going to LSU, their flagship university. 11 of 14 kids are in state. The GA 4-star is a corner. Raymond stays regardless of who is the head coach.

I don't buy that "The wife doesn't want to raise the kids in Miami BS"...These Oregon clowns think they'll be living in the Pork & Beans??...

Well said

Only real thing I have to add is just a general observation of people. Whenever there’s some deemed as a “failure” people want to swing the pendulum as far to the other side as possible.

“Miami guy fails means we have to go national.” “DC fails means we have to hire someone with experience”

It’s like watching politics and it’s an endless merry go round
an experienced non Miami guy, you say….

It’s funny.

Is it possible Mrs Cristobal has taken a liking to Eugene and whatever she is doing out there? Sure. Is she going to object to Mario taking the UM job when all his college and HS buddies are pleading with him to come home? No way.
