*Coach Kool Gone...headed to Alabama*

I do realize all of the above. It doesn't change what I said and maybe you don't understand. Someone has to coach these kids and this is one of the most important positions. I wanted coach Kul here.

So some on here are free to celebrate that coach Kul is gone without knowing the replacement.

Is he replaceable, sure. But I don't get the celebration after we lost one of our best actual coaches because he is good enough for Bama.

that's why he should go to the only college that will allow him to work and not have to recruit or to the NFL, which he has tried to do the past two years. We need what 99.99% of college teams need a recruiter and teacher.

no one is celebrating, but we are not losing sleep!!!

I think we got a glimpse of why KuLLLLLLigowski was at Mizzou for 14 years and couldn't last 2 under Richt at UM.

He can coach, but unless you're bringing him an effortless stream of elite talent, he won't be able to bring in his own.

Fvck Kul he was part of Saban’s staff at Toledo. I really hope they don’t reach the playoffs this year.

We better go out and hire a **** good DL coach:
1. Besides Manny the rest of our Def coaches are green as **** and getting paid on the cheap
2. We can all agree that to be a top tier team today, your DL play/talent must be elite. One of the many reasons Al Golden sucked so bad.

Richt and Blake James better open up the wallet, or we are stuck being a 10 win team every year and then get destroyed by the elite DL teams

Fat pollack will be in the nfl next year. No doubt.

100%. He'll go back "home" to be on the Browns next staff after Hue Jackson is finally canned. Perfect fit for him. A lower pressure job in a ****hole city where instead of recruiting he'll be dealing with paid professionals....like he was at Alabaga.

LOL at guys panicking over this fat slug slinking out of town like a bloated sewer rat.

How hard is it to coach DL and recruit like a demon? It’s not like he’s calling plays under game pressure or scheming or any of that. He’s teaching technique. These dudes go to camps and seminars all the time and should be constantly studying their craft.

Any P5 DL coach should know every technique there is to know. It’s up to Ricky to find one who can relate to the players and fit in with the staff and be willing to recruit his gonads off.

Ricky has been around. He should know a lot of DL coaches.

I’m looking for us to upgrade the spot in a huge way from an energy and recruiting standpoint. As for the actual coaching, it’s not rocket science.

Man not going to lie, scanning social media some of our coaches are more savage than the golden era players. Why would you suck up to a coach that left you hanging in your senior season. Not saying they should blast him either just say nothing. We need more hartley mentality.

Thank god Richt is getting more of the former type.

This is a big loss! I haven’t forgot our dline play from the Golden era, where we couldn’t sniff a sack....we just got back to that aggressive, penetrating style defense that da “U” is known for...The next hire has to be a good teacher as well as recruiter.

I posted this in the WEZ a few months ago. A reminder about his history in recruiting:

Out of all the 4-5 star DL commits from 2001-2015, Kul was the primary recruiter for only 1 (Andy Maple). That was the only commit at any position, listed 4-stars or higher, where he was the primary. Btw, there are zero listed 4-5star prospects TARGETS from Texas (his supposed assigned recruiting territory) that listed Kul as their primary recruiter. Some profiles, especially before 2012, don't list every single primary recruiter. I'm hopeful, but the available data is concerning.

The primary recruiters for every 4/5star DT/DEs COMMITS, during Kul's tenure at Missouri:

Andy Maples - Recruited by Craig Kuligowski

Sheldon Richardson- Recruited by Cornell Ford

If you want the names of the primary recruiter for those 3 star beasts that he coached, well, here ya go:

Aldon Smith: Primary recruiter Andy Hill

Charles Harris (2-star): Primary recruiter Andy Hill

https://247sports.com/Player/Charles...h-school-47805

Shane Ray: Primary recruiter Andy Hill

Andy Hill is apparently the real deal. He landed 5-star DBG and other highly rated players to missouri.

right. no more kids who leave just to get drafted. we want kids chasing something more.

I like the fake enthusiasm before the hire especially after the last one.

You don't need to do all research to come up with the conclusion that Kul 1) is not a good recruiter and 2) does not like to recruit. It's ok, All staffs have that 1-2 guys that are like that - solid grizzled coaches and detest all things recruiting. You hire a "gray beard" like that and that's what you're going to get. For every Palermo, Kul, Petri, et al, you have even more hungry aggressive guys who excel at recruiting like Rocker and (I beleieve) Patrick. We'll be ok.

I don't feel like reading 27 pages of crying, but all I will say is:

If Saban came for him, he must be good.

Also would be willing to bet Norton and RJ leaving had a part in him entertaining this. Kids not committing to him so hes gonna shop.

He was by far the most experienced and well respected POSITION coach we had on staff. Need a big hire to hit back hard here.

Rest of you mad about his recruiting this year, we got two studs, one of which is the best in the state. I am ok with that. John Ford says hi as well.

Just as Chad Thomas said on twitter today #fakeassfans

We needed 5-6 guys with a few studs. He got one stud and one quality guy and a project.

You will know the answer based on how quickly Richt hires a new coach.

If it is quick he was planning on Coach K's departure or asked him to pursue other opportunities

If it takes time then he was blindsided.

I think Richt wanted an upgrade at the position from a recruiting standpoint. Coach K was an awful recruiter and I don't think it takes a genius to recruit Miami lineman. Just need an aggressive scheme.

Chad Thomas called someone out because they knocked him for leaving early (not realizing that Chad was a senior this year and has no eligibility left).

No one has said that Kool was a subpar coach. He is however a crap recruiter and that shows with the lack of depth we now have on the d-line.

****, for as awful as Golden was, he actually left the d-line is decent shape. This is no longer the case.
