CMR sad about seeing star players skip bowl games.

I probably wouldn't have watched either game, so this has nothing to do with my wants. It sucks to me that these guys are going to bend their teammates over the sink. I would be ****ed if my kids' teammate did that to their team, and I would never let my kids do it to their team.

These types of threads are great for outing the ghey boys.

Dynasty, you can be a pickle puffer and be a team player. Look no further than Sherman Helmsley. There was no bigger team player than Sherman Helmsley and he had a steady diet of tube steak.

These are adults not kids. At least the Stanford teammates dont seem upset.

Umm. Do bowl games mean anything?

No. They are just revenue generators for Networks, Conferences, and Universities that help pay these million dollar coaching salaries. I wouldn't expect anything less from Mark Richt. More games, more money.

A player gets injured (Cooper), his whole future outlook is changed.

These are the same types of guys that retire when they are 28 years old and say that they don't want to keep doing damage to their bodies. You think they really care about winning? How many Super Bowls did Megatron win? They want to get that pay day and go on their way.

I guarantee Fournette retires from the NFL before he turns 30.

Actually those are the smart ones. Once you have enough money to live on the rest of your life why ***** your brain up anymore ant risk an early demise.

Yea but people dont look at players like humans, especially college players. They are gladiators to entertain them. F them and their family, future, health, and well being.

reflection of society . . . no loyalty . . . and i'm not talking to your school, i'm talking to your teammates and bros you've worked hard with.

everyone continues to bring up smith from notre dame as the reason not to play . . . but what about the thousands of other players that have played in the bowl game and didn't get hurt . . .

i couldn't let me guys down, the concept of team is the essence of football

I understand the fear of losing the payday by injury, but that is why the NCAA allows insurance policies on NFL-level players. I have to believe that this will negatively impact their draft status..................

K so you work at a job. Tomorow someone offers you triple your salary (these guys will get millions more). If you take this job your "bros" will have to work harder to cover your duties and eventually train up a new person. I know you are taking that job.

The guy last year got 900,000 in insurance to replace the $30million he lost. Sound good?

I'm with Richt. It's weak. Anybody's career could disappear on any play. It's the game. Don't like it? Don't play, ever.

Yeah because what they say to the press is what they're really thinking.

Right, they dont like it so the arent playing. Bunch of hater, jealous fantasizers who are mad they arent these players because theyd be a warrior real man and play. Go work your *** off and make something of your lives like these men are.

The worst thing to do is go out on the field and halfass it like Clowney did a couple years ago. That's how you get really injured. Would rather a player not play than be a liability on the field. Team chemistry goes a long way towards winning (as an example see our OL late in the season, probably less talented on paper than the starting five at the beginning of the season but played as a unit much better). I applaud players that retire "early" after making their money, it shows a degree of intelligence. Play 100%, give it your all while on the field, then when age starts to catch up and you risk being a very rich cripple for the rest of your life, walk away. These are the guys who I don't see ****ing away their money since they are making a a very good personal and business decision.
