Chick speaks out on Mark D’Onofrio/Golden Era

Al ****face Folden by far the worst Corch in school history.

Every time I think about that POS it still ****es me off Smfh. I've got no animosity towards Richt he did the best he could & realized he was finished, I even don't have hard feelings towards Shannon like I used to (couldn't stand him when he was with the Gaytes) he was never fit to be a HC, he was a good LB coach here but that it's.

But with Folden, I ****** HATE that clown, I mean unequivocal pure HATE. He completely killed the program doing irrevocable damage & was way worse than Coker or Shannon imo.
He haid Njoku at LB and Chick at DT. Both are now NFL starters at other positions...

The scariest part is how everyone is all like "yeah, **** Golden and Chick was right" now, but there were some wars on these boards. Some people just really didn't want to accept that Golden and 'Onofrio were insane and wrong.

there. fixed it for you.

Took two head coaches down. Why hire this guy - his track record is pitiful. My son graduated from UH, of course also a lifelong Cane fan because of his parents. When we heard No D was coming to UH, we thought it was a sick joke.

a lot of truth in this post.

richt was a good man, and did some nice things for the program while he was here. the way he left, shows he had the best interest of the program at heart and deserves mad props.

shannon knows defense. he did some really good work when he was here as a LB coach and DC, but he's got some serious emotional/mental issues, and should never have been hired as head coach. Just an odd dude with zero leadership qualities and not a guy who can bring it all together.

golden was a clown. smart enough to know better, but clearly didn't. having him as HC on the heels of Coker and Randy was a total disaster. his handling of d'onfrio was WORSE than richt allowing his son to be the QB coach. Golden can kiss my lilywhite ***. he did more damage to the program than any coach since carl selmer. chick wasn't the only one who almost had his football life ruined by golden's incompetence.

The ‘coaches know better’ line has been trotted out by a lot of folks on this and probably all fan boards since the beginning of time. Typically it’s used by folks who have no other response to the discussion but emotionally don’t want to accept the logical inferences made unavoidable by what we actually see, hear and and read. I hate it pretty much all times it’s used.

Appeal to authority is the worst form of argument in most instances. It’s completely useless when the discussion itself is centered on the failure of said authority. It reduces to the Richard Pryor defense. Maybe better labeled these days the Marion Barry defense: ‘who you gonna believe, me or your lyin’ eyes?’

I think people generally want to believe that whoever the coach is, he's making the right moves for the team. A lot of times when a new coach comes in and changes philosophy, it doesn't translate to winning right away. The fanbase will usually get split into two camps. Those who lose patience immediately and those who want to believe in the coach and have more patience. In the case of coaches like Jimmy Johnson and Butch Davis, they made some wholesale changes to the way UM did things and their immediate results were not great but given time they turned out to the right moves. In the case of Al Golden, the results never manifested and it became clear to everyone after the fact that he was doing things wrong.

Nah, the worst were the fans ****ting on the kids, as the interview alludes too. I appreciate your passion though.

The ones who were blaming the players during that era were not and are not real UM fans, so i dont count them, the ones the pathetic ones were the administration led by the troll shalala who intentionally castrated the football program, and than flake james who doesnt seem to understand he has no built up credibility, and the penn disgrace morons were pathetic as they come, if i was those players i would've told them F putting on weight, it was actually comical to see gumbo fisher every game after we lost to them talking about how "well coached we were" lol, and morons were eating that up to try and **** on coach shannon who was a wsy better coach than those clowns, they can call coach shannon many things but you cant call em "O for" against Florida St. He came away 2 & 2 against them.

Forced. Yeah right. Chick was the Great White God. They gave him EVERYTHING he wanted. What they did was kiss his *** too much and give him too many snaps. Stop kidding yourself... Like I said, he got lucky by losing all the weight to try and make the NFL as a special teams / niche role player. he should count his blessings and stop blaming others for his ***** **** performance in college. don't get me wrong, he is a Cane and I wish him the best.
If this post is "I wish him the best".........then I hate to see what the "he stinks" would look like.....Take out the last sentence...

Actually, I'm ecstatic they didn't abandon that garbage *** defense, anything that expedited the removal of those 2 b!tches I 1,000,000,000,000,000% supported. 10-24-15 was the best day of my life!!!

ROFL, it got real comical at the end, those morons were too stupid to change and didnt know another defense, and you had clowns on here trying to defend the 3-4 defense being run here with the type of athletes we have, only morons would try and run that here. Im watching what Fsu is doing, they are in a similar situation with barnett as d-co. Like you, the handwriting was on the wall after the nebraska game, once julio got here, he couldnt understand why that game was so close, i knew julio was going to be key in our resurgence!

Like taking a sports car, putting mud tires on it and running it around in a big cypress slough. Its supposed to be on the fast track doing what it does best.

Come on man. Because he had no choice. His only shot at making the NFL was as a special teams kinda of guy, not as a 285 **** or a lightweight 250# DE... Lets be honest, so you are saying he wanted to be a OLB at Miami all along, Really...

Before I even go any further, I want you to know that a kid I coached was on that team and was one of Chickillo's best friends.

So do you really wanna have this discussion?
Because I'm going to be stating facts, not assumptions.

Trust the process.
Let me add, I “Trust the process” of a gigantic cactus growing up Nofrito’s behind. Golden is lucky to have a job, hope he’s using his scrap binder with all those bright ideas forming a collage he would ponder upon in his nightly fantasies, to scape something else on his behind.

I have to admit, I was sold on his hire, based on his hair do, but JJ, he wasn’t.

Chickillos are family friends...Ant ain't telling no lies there. Family was not happy about the situation either.

I don't think you all remember...but Chickillo was out performing Jadaveon Clowney on the All-Star circuit. Some were saying he was going to be a better player.

Chickillo was basically Ryan Kerrigan and we tried to turn him into run of the mill JAG lineman.

It was The Legend and maybe 2 guys who had Chick’s back the whole time. Everyone else dogged him as a flop, failure and bust.

They took a dog off the edge and hooked him up to Folden’s gravy IV tube. Pathetic.

D'Onofrio took one of the most athletic defensive tackles in the history of football...the next John Randle. And made him play nose tackle.
