Texas was getting blown out by BYU before Strong even arrived. Texas has no talent. You can't look at the longhorn on the helmet and assume they are good. Most of all Brown's players were bad.

I can say I do not see any NFL players on Texas' squad. RS had some and they were all on his side of the ball. Golden walked into an 11 win team and incredibly underachieved but was lauded for the players not giving up, when he was the anchor causing them to sink. Good coaches adapt to the personnel they have in the first 2 years, then transition to the type of concept they want to run as they recruit their guys for their system , pretty much what Meyer has done in 2 of his national championships. As much as I like Strong, it would be a setback, particularly in the short term if he cant fit his system around our current personnel.

So last year they went 6-7 (46%) (5-4) and allowed 23.8 PPG

This year they're 1-3 (25%) (0-1) and allow 35+ PPG [all before today]

No pride and I almost can't blame em the way our program has beaten the fanbase down. That said, it's still pathetic to want the failures of real programs to come save us. As you just said, if you can't win on the big stage elsewhere you surely aren't winning here with our limitations just based on made-up intangibles that your advocates spout and a borderline fraudulent run at a Big East school.

Charlie would inherit a way better situation than that dumpster fire he received in Texas. BoT would be fools to pass on him if Texas fires him at the end of the year. I think he'd be more than willing to take a paycut to come here and I have a feeling he would view it as a better situation for him long term than Texas. I mean the majority of the heavy hitting donors didn't even want him for various reasons, plus he's had to fix a lot of broken relationships on the recruiting front down there as well.

What has he accomplished as a coach that makes him a legit candidate?

He has the most resources of any coach in America, and he is TERRIBLE. Absolute garbage.

He beat the **** out of us a few years ago. Won 11 and 12 game his last 2 years at UL, 3-1 in bowl games, assembled and developed the entire UL roster that was 2nd in the nation in draft picks last year. Recruited the **** out of Sfla from Louisville, Kentucky.

I really don't think Golden would be a great coach anywhere, but he is out of place in Miami and would be better off up north. Charlie strong is out of place at Texas. Would be much better here. I'm not saying he is the best candidate out there but he is better than Fuente, Mario, Kirby Smart, Lane Kiffic, etc that has been thrown around Miami recently. I would rather have Butch, but I would gladly take Strong.

Well maybe we should hire Mike London once Virginia fires him. He's been beating the **** out of us for years.
