Charlier Strong and Texas

I really don't know how he's going to get back to Austin as the head coach of the Longhorns. Flat out embarrassing.

Louisville Cardinals (Big East / American Athletic Conference) (2010–2013)
2010 Louisville 7–6 3–4 T–5th W Beef 'O' Brady's
2011 Louisville 7–6 5–2 T–1st L Belk
2012 Louisville 11–2 5–2 T–1st W Sugar† 13 13
2013 Louisville 12–1 7–1 2nd W Russell Athletic 15 15
Louisville: 37–15 20–9
Texas Longhorns (Big 12 Conference) (2014–present)
2014 Texas 6–7 5–4 T–4th L Texas
2015 Texas 1–4 0–2
Texas: 7–11 5–6
Total: 44–27

The spacing is off, but essentially, he had TB for his 3 big seasons.

In 2012 they beat one ranked team (Florida) - in 2013 they beat ZERO ranked teams ---- do not want

His team is about to be 1-4, and they are down 30-0 IN THE FIRST QUARTER.

I don't care what he inherited. This is his second season. This is the same trash you morons said about Randy and Golden "he inherited garbage".

I mean how many times does it need to be said that a good coach will turn it around by his 2nd year????

I can say I do not see any NFL players on Texas' squad. RS had some and they were all on his side of the ball. Golden walked into an 11 win team and incredibly underachieved but was lauded for the players not giving up, when he was the anchor causing them to sink. Strong and Golden did not have the same situation. Wow some of you all kill a guy real soon. Too bad this discernment was as obvious to you as it should have been with Al. Maybe he would not have received an extension after getting throttled by a garbage BC squad.

At no point have you demonstrated Strong should be the next coach at Miami.

Oh I but I never said he should be the coach here. I just said, I don't think he is a bad coach. I don't know how he'll do. However, I do think he is good. It's too early to tell in my opinion. I think by next year they should be making some noise like 9 wins at Texas with at least 2 upsets.

Who cares? We're looking for our next coach.

Just updating the "Charlier" Strong thread

His team is regressing in year 2. At least show some **** improvement.

So last year they went 6-7 (46%) (5-4) and allowed 23.8 PPG

This year they're 1-4 (20%) (0-2) and allow 38+ PPG

But, but, but he has south florida ties!!!!

Guy is a total corch.

south florida ties don't help in texas if your can't recruit texas. he would most likely do better down here.

No lol all the guys he actually got from down here were guys that shannon or golden didnt want, go lucky that bridgewater landed right in his lap same with burggess, holliman

I liked Strong back when we got Golden. And he is a better coach than Golden, but not by much. I don't think Strong will do much with Miami talent either. Here is a link to his record and his schedule. I didn't realize how bad his record was.... numbers wise it was great at Louisville, but look at the schedule and who he beat and show me a signature win (2013 Louisville Cardinals Stats | College Football at Sports-Reference.com) there wasn't one on there. And Texas arguably has almost as much talent as South Florida does. You can argue he has other programs to compete against, but so do the coaches in this state. Golden needs to go, but Strong isn't the answer either.

He will end up somewhere like NC State and pull a Rich Rod. He needs his underrated South Florida studs.

He's a bad fit with these soft Texas kids.
