Charlier Strong and Texas

I wouldn't hire him as HC. If he continues to flame out at Texas, offer him a healthy salary to be the DC under butch. It's the path that muschamp took

Watching this game, in that stadium, I only dream of true leadership at the U. Please imagine that environment with the talent in our region and simply a solid head coach.

Charlie would inherit a way better situation than that dumpster fire he received in Texas. BoT would be fools to pass on him if Texas fires him at the end of the year. I think he'd be more than willing to take a paycut to come here and I have a feeling he would view it as a better situation for him long term than Texas. I mean the majority of the heavy hitting donors didn't even want him for various reasons, plus he's had to fix a lot of broken relationships on the recruiting front down there as well.

What has he accomplished as a coach that makes him a legit candidate?

He has the most resources of any coach in America, and he is TERRIBLE. Absolute garbage.

He beat the **** out of us a few years ago. Won 11 and 12 game his last 2 years at UL, 3-1 in bowl games, assembled and developed the entire UL roster that was 2nd in the nation in draft picks last year. Recruited the **** out of Sfla from Louisville, Kentucky.

I really don't think Golden would be a great coach anywhere, but he is out of place in Miami and would be better off up north. Charlie strong is out of place at Texas. Would be much better here. I'm not saying he is the best candidate out there but he is better than Fuente, Mario, Kirby Smart, Lane Kiffic, etc that has been thrown around Miami recently. I would rather have Butch, but I would gladly take Strong.

His team is about to be 1-4, and they are down 30-0 IN THE FIRST QUARTER.

I don't care what he inherited. This is his second season. This is the same trash you morons said about Randy and Golden "he inherited garbage".

I mean how many times does it need to be said that a good coach will turn it around by his 2nd year????

Wow, still NO arguments can be made for Strong. One more time, since Potatoes NEVER learn.

1. Bridgewater: Without Bridgewater, 14-16 (8-9). That isn't an accomplishment, those are loser numbers. You ever think, that what he "accomplished" at UL was against inferior teams (talent) in an inferior conference. Combine that with the fact that he had Bridgewater, a heisman freak and you have Strong in a nutshell.

2. Improvement. I keep hearing that Strong is either improving at Texas or he inherited a bad situation. No one is denying that Texas needs work but how about Strong show some improvement.

So last year they went 6-7 (46%) (5-4) and allowed 23.8 PPG

This year they're 1-3 (25%) (0-1) and allow 35+ PPG.

Where is the improvement? He was a great DC who had some success at UL. Now Texas is looking WORSE than last year and that is before the game today against TCU.

In summation, if he can't win at Texas (with all the money/resources) why would you want him at Miami?

These Porsters are very SIMPLE. Before today (and this is looking like Auschwitz against TCU) his team is regressing from last year.

Strong beat us with Bridgewater. Ergo, everyone thinks he's great. Sorry, but that's not impressive.

What he's doing at Texas is impressive, but NOT good.

Oh, BUTCH DAVIS!

I don't want another school's sloppy seconds. I fully understand that he had it bad at Texas but I don't want someone who has failed so recently, am I supposed to trust a coach like that? Strong is a halfway decent coach and certainly he's better than Al Golden, but I'm tired of mediocrity. Bring me someone like Tom Herman who will change the landscape of this program for the better.

we could have had Patterson. Instead we chose to hire Charlie Strong Part I b/c he "had Miami ties" and "was a great DC" and "was black".

Charlie Strong is a complete corch of the highest order.

Fair assessment

The difference between Strong and Golden is that, when I look at Strong, I don't impulsively think: "******* loser."

Disagree.

Strong was set up for failure. He is done after this season and Miami would be fools to pass on him

Hes worse than golden, that texas team has talent, we would be fools to hire him

Texas was getting blown out by BYU before Strong even arrived. Texas has no talent. You can't look at the longhorn on the helmet and assume they are good. Most of all Brown's players were bad.

Hey it worked out for Rich Rod. Some places aren't good fits...

So you are saying hes a good coach? Come on now, do you want him as our next head coach

Seriously set up for failure? He VOLUNTARILY went there. What does that say about him and his judgment?

Then let Strong go to some inferior program.

Here he is! Reverend Al has arrived.

You are a truly pathetic person. You would defend OJ Simpson as HC. Save your racist agenda for elsewhere.

Strong has been exposed at Texas. He is against better coaching and getting his **** kicked. His team is regressing. Do not want at Miami.
