CFP moving to 24 teams

Requiring teams to play 10 P4 games makes it a little more tolerable. Otherwise a team like Indiana, who scheduled three cupcakes this year, would only play 9 real games and only have to win 6 of them to make the playoff.

Still, I don’t like the 24 team playoff at all. At 12 teams you at least have to kind of earn your way in. With 24, its baked in for a lot teams.

12 more teams are going to have to play an extra game to win a natty. This is really going to seperate the teams at the top vs those on the back side of the top 10. If I'm a recruit, Im going to perennial top team if I have the option, unless my NIL is GODLY.

Miami played 4 round last year and missed the conference championship so it could have been five.No more Conference Championship plus the top eight seeds with a bye it’s pretty much the same.

Maybe I’m being irrational, but I don’t want to make a 24 team neutered CFP as the 17th ranked team. That’s not a successful season imo. Making the CFP, beating some patsy then getting pantsed the following week? I don’t think we will have that problem. We aren’t Missouri or Utah. But still, as much as I hate Cam didn’t get to play in the CFP, we didn’t earn it. Expanding just to put some ridiculous feather in our cap is dumb.

Didn’t say I like it but making the playoffs is important and you can’t win a championship if you don’t make it in.

There are plenty of scenarios throughout all leagues where lower seeds have gone on to make a run and win.

Yeah the only positive is that cignetti can't cancel every power opponent anymore

This is probably the last year the acc championship game will be played. We need to win it
Yes it’s over

Then again, is it not the conference choice Low conference need that extra revenue why not keep your championship game?

At the very least, the ACC lets teams keep what they earn post season. A few million extra bucks to beat down a G5 school before the real playoffs start.

Nobody wants this except for Gator fans who can continue to play nobody out of conference, go 4-4 in October and November and still get in the playoffs. Complete ruination of the sport.

I don’t really understand the downside of this especially in the NIL era?
Our ‘24 team would have been in even if our defense sucked ***. You have more leeway in the regular season to actually schedule some fun big matchups.
The bracket would most certainly create some entertaining games and matchups.
Does this hurt our chances of making it or increase it on a yearly basis?
What is the downside? Does this make it harder or impossible to get into the Big 10 or SeC?
Trying to figure out why so many people are against it.
