CFP moving to 24 teams

Regular season just died. 80% of games have zero value such as a shame. It will turn in to the NFL where most people don’t even really care about the regular season anymore.

The positive is Miami will never miss another college football playoff. There’s no excuse not to make a 24 team field, if you are Miami

You think the SEC is gonna look at potentially getting a UGA vs Bama matchup in Atlanta and say no? Or LSU vs Bama? The Big Ten is gonna have IU vs Ohio State play each other and say no? These greedy suits are going to extract every single penny from this sport.

Right now, we have self-interested conferences that bring absolutely zero added value. That structural flaw is the source of every problem in college football. Nobody is making decisions for the sport as a whole.

Not 24. They are trying to balance too many considerations. ESPN doesn’t even want 24.

Conference Championship Games will be finished

ESPN will make up the money with this new format

Maybe I’m being irrational, but I don’t want to make a 24 team neutered CFP as the 17th ranked team. That’s not a successful season imo. Making the CFP, beating some patsy then getting pantsed the following week? I don’t think we will have that problem. We aren’t Missouri or Utah. But still, as much as I hate Cam didn’t get to play in the CFP, we didn’t earn it. Expanding just to put some ridiculous feather in our cap is dumb.

ESPN didn’t want the 24 team playoff. Because they won’t get every game anymore. Fox is gonna get their share. TNT, CW, whoever. ESPN won’t let the SECCG die.
