Went and read Vern's previous post. If only a fraction of this is true, it'll take years to regain the trust of the HS coaches in S Fla and clean up the toxic mess this program has become. Sad days ahead. Happy freakin New Year.

I can't imagine the SoFla community is oblivious to this news and I can't imagine they're OK with it.

Miami refusing to let kids transfer as if they own them could be the final straw to truly sever any shaky relations between the university and SoFla community.

Kids have to sit out a year regardless. If they aren't granted a release from the school, they have to sit out TWO years.

Yes.

If no release is given, the other school can't give a scholarship for the season they sit out ... So, the kid has to pay their own way.

If the release is given, the kid is on scholarship while sitting out.

But the original school can still "condition" where the kid can go.

And people still wonder why kids will take illegal benefits. This is slave labor. Indentured Servants being brought to this country from China in the early 1800's had better employment contracts than NCAA athletes do today.

To be fair, the NCAA and the Schools have to have some sort of control with transfers. If not, it would be a **** show with kids leaving every year to play football else where. I have no problem with the current rules. This is why kids need to do their homework before signing an LOI with a school. If things are bad enough to where they want to transfer then they can play some where else in a couple of years.

Again, there is no balance. No one is allowed to go after coaches who lie and misrepresent their offer to a recruit. Once the NCAA letter of intent is signed, the kid has less rights than a convicted felon.

This sickens me man. These kids won't even look back on their time here and remember it as a good one. Who knows if they will even be proud to be Canes.

Remember my PM? We need to take action. I don't ****ing know how but we need to do something.

I'm planning stuff already. I don't know if I will be able to attend the basketball game on Saturday, but if I can we can meet up with signs. On one side they are pro UM so we can get on the screen. On the other side it will say Fire Golden. Once we get on we flip the sign.

I'm also planning to write a piece for the school paper calling for action. Gonna talk to a few people before that so we can make it professional and factual. Going all in. I can't take this anymore.

It was a failure, not by Kaaya, but on the coaches using him as the full time starter this year.

Come on man, he probably should have shirted. By starting an 18 year true freshman (not even a Spring arrival), we lost the confidence of the seniors/upperclassman. We start off with a hurtful loss on the road to Louisville. A revenge game that he wasn't even apart of the first game. Hesitant performance, lack of command of the offense, a limited playbook. Thus, contributing to less unity from the upperclassmen. Less people buying into the season.

This is not about Kaaya being in any way a failure as a quarterback (which he isn't at all), but in the decision to use him as our starter from the git go. That's a 6-7 decision from a 6-7 coach.

Again, this is not an accident. Donna has told al to spend more time recruiting out of state kids. My guess is that she feels more like Stanford when they do that.

It seems to be the stated goal of the animals on the board of trustees to sever any ties between the university and the city from which it draws its name.

Dismissing AQM an entire semester and season for a fight.
Denying kids transfers.
Constantly throwing them under the bus.


I'd say the team should refuse to play or practice until a coaching change is made, but Donna would love that. Pull their scholarships, toss em out of school, and just line up 11 Willy Herreras on defense every Saturday.

I think in years past, golden was able to benefit from having a few "house athletes" (keeping with your analogy) in his corner. Well I think they're all gone now.
