Blaming the players

Facts. However, to not hold players accountable for poor execution, as the OP is suggesting, is absurd. Our ****** season is on EVERYONE.
Pretty much need to flip a good portion of the roster and the OC. We’ve got deficiencies in talent - WR’s, LB, CB… that needs to be upgraded…. but we’ve still got more talent than MTSU -per 247 we’re ranked about 75 spots higher than MTSU in talent so that’s where the coaching issues are clear.

Imagine thinking coaches are 100% to blame. Imagine thinking people are capable of such control. Imagine thinking players don’t require accountability.

There’s plenty of blame to go around, my friend. We can assign percentages later, but they’re all jointly liable (coaches are mostly to blame).

Stupid and arrogant post.

Several poRsters saying Mario needs time to get his players in as their response to the MTSU loss.
Hahaha I’m one of those guys
Yes I think the coaching could be different
But I just don’t think Mario is gonna do it
From outside looking in it seems he’s gonna build his program his way including schematically
So he wants to build a team around a certain style so it’s better to start doing it now
Vs using a different scheme for tvd which is not ultimately what Mario wants to do and them change as he recruits his players
That’s what it seems like to me and that’s why he’s not gonna change his style
And the style Mario wants needs your players to be better than the opponent and we need players who will just make a big play, imagine if george hadn’t tripped against am or if parish doesn’t always get caught, and if our cbs could actually run stride for stride with a wr instead of getting beat on all go routes, we don’t have any real game breakers
So we just got to let Mario get the players to fit his style
That’s why I’m concerned with the lack of recruiting at certain key positions

Losing to MTSU was Mario’s fault

That doesn’t even really need explained

But everyone drops the ball from time to time. Not calling for his head, but that loss is on him. He’s the boss.

I see what you did there….

…missed on my first read…

But Enos recruited TVD.. that means he was recruited to be good in a pro style scheme? Maybe Lashlee & Likens know how to make chicken soup out of chicken sh*t?

Don’t get it confuse. I’m not a fan of Gattis either but its for other reason other than him “ruining TVD”. His space and pace is not to my liking but our first round QB ain’t living up to hype either.

We blame Flaggs and Ivey for bad play which is fair but they are not playing themselves and running plays that is not to their skill set? So why isn’t everyone going ape**** on Steele and the defensive staff?

We can crush Flaggs and Ivey every week but everything is wrong with the offense BUT TVD? Nah… the blame goes to everyone.
There is no scheme that plays to Flagg and Ivey’s skill sets. They’re just not good enough here.

It doesn’t matter why Enos recruited TVD. How was he used last year under Lashlee and how is he being used this year under Gattis and what are the results of each?

That receiver that burned Ivey for 90+ is the equivalent of the nfl combine running away from him.
At some point the sit down has to happen.
“Son I’ve left you on an island several times on purpose and they’ve picked in you for a reason”.

Practice usually equates to game day.
But not all the time.
Some dudes just don’t respond well to pressure or the spotlight. With some players it’s the exact opposite.

The recruiting at certain positions is going to continue to be a problem. No non-slot type WR wants to play in this scheme.

Which is the way we've played all our ACC games for years now.
Exactly
We’re an avg acc teams
Avg acc teams lose to teams like mtsu
It’s rare but it’s not that crazy
That’s my whole point
This isn’t a good roster it’s just avg across the board we don’t have a single day 1-2 level talent on offense
And defense may be Taylor but he’s way to inconsistent
Teams like Clemson have 5 Taylors
We don’t have enough talent to overcome poor play

If you're still an individual that blames the players, you need to stop posting here. Instead, download some brain training apps, or start reading more, just do anything to improve your cognitive ability.

The fact that we are I'm 2022 and people still blame the players and make excuses for staff members is just baffling.

I've seen far too many people all season pointing fingers at players saying they're terrible, excusing coaches constantly. Your posts would be more productive if you just typed in "I'm an idiot" and copied and pasted it 1,000 times. I'd rather scroll a little longer each page due to that than see some of you all compete to see who has an IQ closest to room temperature.

If you blame the players, just stop, you need help.
I don't "blame" the players. They are what they are.

I’m still shocked at how people are looking to point to specifics

TVD. Scheme. Gattis. Ivey. Steele. Recruiting. Development.

No. Just no.

If we lost to A&M, or **** is it was FSU…ok. Let’s analyze.

But we got beat down by MTSU

That’s an institutional failure from top to bottom. We should have been able to beat them running a triple option with Jacurri Brown and running a prevent defense

The reason we lost is because Mario did not have this team ready to play in any aspect of the game

When you have had 6 coaches in the past 15 or something years and have gotten the same results the players bear the majority of the blame.

Players 100% deserve some blame, but losing to Middle Tenn is squarely on the shoulders of the coaches. Just can’t happen

We lost MTSU cause we were looking ahead to the bye week…okay, sheath those knives back, I’m joking!

MY RANT: In all seriousness though, this is going to happen more often than not, as we are in a rebuild mode. Does not mean the coaches are blameless, there is no excuse for an MTSU-like performance. The coaches definitely dropped the ball with a loss so ugly and embarrassing-should have seen the ACCN crew after the game with a sigh of relief that their pet programs were safe from a resurgent Miami once more, and were smiling. But I also blame the kids collectively, for playing below their best. Mario &Co need to be better. Better at coaching, better at getting the kids ready for game time. No, I’m not forgetting the glaring need to recruit better than previous years’ haul.

Fair point

So to get this correct. On defense its the players, not the coaches and with offense it’s the coaches not the players?

Yep, find me another first year high profile hire that has struggled like this team has this year. Find me anyone, you wont in the modern era.
