Great hire, IMO. Dude has put in his time and is qualified. Everyone has to get wet somewhere, but his responsibilities as interim AD have been vast and he has done alot of excellent things for the football program and basketball as well. As mentioned before, the dude has a genuine passion for South Florida and the University of Miami and he just fits. Excited for Blake and think this will benefit the University. No outsiders were needed at this time when we have someone qualified already here who has been weathering this **** storm.

CSI is truly BLESSED to have moderators of such DEEP THOUGHT.

I don't care that he loves UM, that is not a qualification IMO to be given the "DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS" position. I love money, let me be in charge of a hedge fund.

This guy just needs to do three things

1. Put the program (Football, Basketball and Baseball etc.) in the best program to win. What does that mean? Give the coaches what they need to run their programs.

2. Bring in cash, bring in cash and bring in cash. Raise funds and fund raise. That is it, every day he should be doing this and bringing in money.

3. Our own football stadium. Nobody is saying that we need one in 2013 but how about a 5 year goal? How about a plan?

Unless he does all 3, I don't care how much he loves UM.

He failed at #1
Evidently successful at #2 but where’s the money going?
#3 Too scared and lacked the vision to get an indoor practice facility til Richt told him to let alone an actual stadium.

What a spectacular failure he turned out to be. Greater than any of us imagined

Early thread was very accurate. It emphasized James' connection with the community and that he loved to be front and center in the limelight. That has certainly played out.

There were also great posts regarding need for our own stadium. Hilarious that a contrived rooftop causes some to run away from big picture clarity. Talk about weak.
