Honestly...it's hard to tell since there isn't a ton of info out there regarding the specifics of what Gino does in his current roles. But I do think there's two main components of an organization, for both NFL and college.
1 - Business operations (finance, sales, operations, etc)
2 - Sport (players, coaches, support staff, etc)
I see Zo as more experienced on the sport side of things (obviously). There's limited info out there but by what is out there Zo seems to favor scouting and handling player personnel decisions. It doesn't seem like this is a guy sitting in on marketing meetings, reviewing renewal rates on season tickets, and/or supporting on closing some corporate development deals. He's more so going to be in the film room reviewing tape with coaches and traveling doing some scouting. The management experience probably comes in his management over the scouts but it's very likely there's a Biz Ops person managing all of that.
Gino, on the other hand, probably has more of the business operations experience. GAMCO is a publicly traded brokerage firm and he sits as SVP. Not really sure what he does as SVP but probably has a little more experience in the traditional business world. Additionally, he's also CEO of Touchdown Radio which really just seems like a passion project that lets him color commentate on a CFB game every weekend.
Can they both be successful ADs? Idk and you don't know...none of us do...but I do know that neither of them is anywhere near being one of the more qualified candidates out there.
With that said, if you put a gun to my head and forced me to pick...I'd probably let you pull the trigger.w
