I was merely advancing what the arguments would be for Gino.

But I do disagree with you that Miami is not unique. I think it is different. We're not a school where everything revolves around football. This isn't Bama, OU, UGA, Clemson, OSU, LSU, etc. Unlike those places, there will be resistance to offering the football team every resource and dollar imaginable to thrive. That alone can be a shock if someone comes from that background. I am not suggesting it's insurmountable, but it can be an obstacle if someone isn't prepared to have to fight the BOT.

That's the rub here.... they don't. The elitist pricks that have spent the past 15-20 years running this program into the ground are good with being Harvard of the south. It's been clear in every decision they've made during that timeframe. Kirk Herbstreit putting the powers that be on blast is the only reason we're having this discussion. I'm going to wait and reserve judgement until everything is finalized but hiring a bunch of "Miami" dudes is taking a page from the 2005-2021 playbook.... just polishing the **** and selling it as gold nugget.

on the other hand, if the rumors about the search firm walking away if the university seriously considered jurich is true, then it's hard to put any stock in their opinion at all.

He could handle that aspect. He hired a solid baseball coach at New Mexico also. He may not be as interested in being over football as most want to be

Nunez could focus on his expertise and leave the big program to Zo. Looking at his accomplishments at NM, men’s and women’s cross country, golf, tennis and a couple of others have done very well.
