Bethel wants assurances of new scheme

nigel wants to win. golden wants to keep the pipeline to booker t healthy. they will go see him.
 
Maybe we blitzed and all that but its clear what Bethel meant. He wants to see a competent, exciting defense that successfully attacks the QB and makes plays. We do none of that.

And yes, Bethel shouldn't have said anything even though his general point was true. But it's disturbing because now recruits are catching on to the terrible product we have and it is going to seriously hurt us going forward in recruiting.

When the offense doesn't show up to the game it's almost impossible to win. Can't blame this loss on the Defense.

lol. They gave up over 500 yards again and almost gave up over 500 yards passing. They put together a **** poor performance. Blaming the loss on one side of the ball is dumb and makes no sense. We got whipped on offense and defense. Golden himself said that we got beat in all 3 facets of the game. Do you disagree?

The offense was beyond awful last night. D was never going to hold up with that amount of time on the field and we knew that. The D is not good but it at least looked like they were trying different players, different things.O looked as if scoring wasn't the objective of the game.

Our defense forced one punt the entire game and gave up 554 yards of offense.

That is a **** poor performance and is one of the reasons why we lost the game.

the O sucked last night, but the D could help them out from time to time. 500 yards again is a pretty clear sign the D is broken
 
I don't blame him. Worst defense in UM's history last year and more pathetic performances this year. Every team pretty much had over 500 yards when they played us. UCF and Cinci hung with Louisville and we got clobbered by them.

I don't blame you Nigel. This defensive scheme has been crap from the very first game at Maryland. People were blaming the players when it was the coaches putting them in shtty *** positions. Nothing has changed and last night was proof of the lack of the development and soft mentality that has been injected into the players.

On 4 different plays, I seen our DE lined up on their Slot receiver. Every one of the plays, Teddy recongized the mismatch, and executed on the plays. 2 of them were long 3rd down plays converted to first. SMH on our lineups on D
 
He's right and its about time one of our commits said it

It's a pathetic soft scheme

AQM making tackles 20 yards away from the QB cause he has to chase a WR around. Lulz at anyone that defends these coaches or the play of the defense

I though we were running it BECAUSE we had bad talent. Didn't the coaches notice that before they put the scheme it place? Al keeps saying it is the players' fault. They must have noticed the lack of talent then.

It has to be amongst the worst in all CFB, has to be.
 
It think we should go back to a 4 front we don't produce the horses to run this D

The best coaches don't get players and make them fit a scheme, they get a scheme that fits the players

If Golden doesn't start doing that the gap between us and being "elite" gets farther every year
 
Is anybody happy with this defense? Even Al's mother has to be concerned. Third year and things are worse. It is reasonable to be concerned. We worry about having fruity new uniforms becuase recruits "like" them, why not give them a defense the "like" playing in? Listen, I am a old diehard Catholic who still parays in Latin. I don't like change, or kids who mouth off to authority, or rebellious behavior. But something must be done and nothing seems to have any effect. Even Al knows he has to have this recruiting class or his career as a head coach is dead. Sucess at THE U for HC means NFL HC job. Failure at THE U means coaching lbs in pigsville or choking of dust in some west desert start up team. If you can't coach you better be able to land recruits. This is his first class that looks like the type to turn things, lose it and we and Al are done. Donna will keep him 2 more years and when 10,000 people show up to watch some half-*** team run and pass for 600 yards on his "in process" defense, she will fire him. Unfortunately, unless she finds another Howard out there, it will be to late for our beloved U.
