Benedict Cristobal is gone

Unless this potentiality was specifically addressed with Al before the hire, I disown this dude if he interviews.

I think even if this was cleared with Golden beforehand it's still very informative about Cristobal's loyalty or lack of loyalty.

After being on the staff for such a short time, how do you even have the balls to approach your boss with that request?
"Hey Al, I'm going to interview with Saban at Bama."
"WTF? Seriously? Whatever ************ do whatever the **** you want, and fuuck you too."

This is complete bullsh*t if true. Barely been here a month, talked Corch into bringing his boy Coley down, and then interviews a month later at Bama?

LMAO @ his wife if this is true. It was rumored she didnt want to leave Meeommi for Rutgers or Pitt and thats why he didnt take those jobs. She'll love Allybamma though

If true, what it really tells me is that Mario is not the strategic mind I'd hope he could become. It's a very short-sighted move.

Unless, of course, he did so to gain literally any kind of intel from the Bama program and worked that objective out with Golden beforehand.

I wonder what kind of intel he could glean.
That they have dominated college football for the past number of years?
That they are in a small college town where everybody knows to shut up and deny deny deny when it comes to improper benefits?

I don't know about a recon mission.

Seems like he is really interviewing.
Also, I don't know anybody in any profession that interviews for fun. Most people who are professional interviewers are people who are unemployed.

Mario isn't leaving Al like this. You guys ever heard of doing your "Due diligence"? NICK SABAN called him and asked him to interview. You don't say no to that I am sorry. If the CEO of Apple calls you and ask you to interview YOU GO even if you know you not accepting no matter what the offer. And **** if Nick opens the vault for Mario then you wish the guy well.

You guys better get used to this. The better we get the more assistants that are gonna bolt. Christobal and Coley will be gone within 3 years tops maybe 2. Donofrio was almost gone to temple from all reports. So within 3 years most of the staff will be gone. **** we lost two this year and we were a 7-6 team! The "Streets is Watching" and they know we have a **** good coaching staff that is VERY underpaid.

(The reason I say 3 years is because that is around the time when we stick our flag into College football again and claim it for Dade County! Lol. )

Talked doesn't mean interviewed. Just like Golden "talked" to every school every year since he got here.

Semantics, big fella. When there's a job opening, and the place that has the job opening talks to you about it, then that sounds like an interview to me.

I'll stick with this: If he interviews or talks with Bama about that opening, then he's a gaping ****. I don't care if he takes the gig or not. Talking to them about it is enough for me to form my conclusion.

3 years is understandable. But after a month?
That is just unfathomable.
Due diligence is one thing but people who are happy in their jobs do not actively look.
Most professionals have recruiters calling all the time. Recruiters cruise Linkedin like permit cruise the flats, meaning all the time.
When recruiters call you usually say "no thanks," or "quit fuucking calling me."
If the CEO of Apple called an executive at Microsoft I'm sure the person would listen, but go and interview? Not likely unless that person was eager to make a move.
If you are an employer and you have a bunch of employees who have their resumes on job boards and are coming to work in $1000 suits on casual friday then you know that you have a problem with that particular person and you have to resolve the problem or part ways.

Rudebuddha, I feel you cane brotha. But we ARE NOT the Microsoft of college football right now. Just all there is to it...we are the start up company that has potential and a very great chance of hitting it big time soon but are not there yet and Apple knows it. (In this case, Alabama) But I think we have nothing to worry about. Mario knows that he wouldn't be able to set foot at Greentree for awhile if he pulled this stunt. And that means something to a guy like him. Just think he's "passing through" checking out the market.

The Alabama24/7 crew is reporting that he is interviewing today. Not talking. Interviewing.
I don't know **** about what goes on around Tuscaloosa, but I'm sure those good old boys who report on Alabama football know quite a bit.

I'm still stunned that Cristobal would even talk to other schools much less interview.
How many paychecks has he received from Miami? 2? 3?
Unbelievable.

If miami pays like other Universities I have worked for, he only has gotten 1. Most pay once per month

Offensive line coach at Alabama is a better coaching position than Tight Ends coach at Miami, and I'm sure it pays better.

you'd be wrong on both points

Stop that. 'Bama's on top right now. To get a call from them is a big time pat on the bac for a coach. Not to mention the importance of an O-Line coach supersedes that of a TE coach. Similar to James Coley, the position presents a great resume booster, so I don't lament him interviewing.

You'd still be wrong, Its not a better job and it wont pay more

It is. And the incentives are likely higher given the school and the position.

Hmmm. Interesting.

Negged.

also agree that if M.C does/is interviewing at Bamer, dik head move for real. even with Big Al's blessing. burning bridge after a couple of weeks onthe job is no bueno

Actually we are the Microsoft of College Football. We were great. 5 National Championships in a relatively short period of time. Not to mention the Ohio State fiasco, the BCS bull**** that had FSU in the NC game instead of us, the ND game where Cleveland Gary didn't fumble on the goal line.
For the past decade we were not at the level of Alabama, UF and LSU, and now we are fighting our way back.
We are like the American car companies post bailout...,coming on strong.
We were the greatest and now since the BCS has ruled college football and seems to have an SEC bias, it's all about the SEC and Alabama has been the best of the SEC.
Alabama as Apple is a good analogy. Started off great in the 80's. In the 90's I remember when you could by Apple shares for 5$, then the ipod, the iphone, the ipad and the rest is history.
