Benedict Cristobal is gone

Saban has been interviewing a whole bunch of big named college assistance for the job so I would not panic right now. He interviewed South Carolina's Shawn Elliott yesterday

I'm not in a panic. However, I can assure you that I'll take a completely new view of CrystalBall if he did interview with Bama. I don't really care if he gets the job. The interview, if it took place, is enough for me to be done with him.

I hope one of the muckraker fake journalists down here actually has the intelligence to ax him about this.

It speaks well of Miami/Cristobal that Saban would interview him for a higher position.

It's not a higher position. He's the Associate HC here. And it would actually speak horribly of CrystalBall if he interviewed.

Offensive line coach at Alabama is a better coaching position than Tight Ends coach at Miami, and I'm sure it pays better.

you'd be wrong on both points

Bama was paying stoutland almost 400,000 as just an OL coach. Don't know how much Crystobal makes at UM.

Even if it's an upgrade it's a slight one I'd think and you just don't do that to your alma mater IMO. Not after only a month on the job. If it happens, he can turn in his Cane card if you ask me. You want to go up there and try and steal our recruits? Eat a ****.

I thought it wasn't about the money with Mario, and that he and his family were all about FL? If it was about $$ and promotions, wouldn't this guy have pursued one of the BCS level job openings that were available the past couple years?

It just baffles my mind how a guy can come in and take a job in the off-season, and then leaves said job a week or two later for another job. They really need to put some kind of restriction in places for coaches, the same way they do for the kids themselves. Such a joke.

Rule #1: When someone says it's not about the money, you can be sure it's about the money. Kind of like how liars always preface their statements with "honestly...".

Wait, I say honestly all the time...and to be honest (pun intended), I actually do tell the truth when I say that.

I do not believe that he is seriously considering leaving.

here you go again....just like Robinson, right?

you've been wrong 100% lately

Like the old saying, you don't put a condom on unless you plan to ****.
You don't travel across a couple states to interview unless you are serious about making a move.

Barrow did this a few years ago when he met with UF, and by all accounts, was not particularly interested in leaving.

Not buying that a guy who turned down HC positions, that were bigger than the HC job he had, because he, and his wife, didn't want to move would be looking to bail for an O line coach gig.

I'm not buying it until it happens. He's a S. Fla guy with family ties to the area. Just took the job not 3 months ago here.

Stop that. 'Bama's on top right now. To get a call from them is a big time pat on the bac for a coach. Not to mention the importance of an O-Line coach supersedes that of a TE coach. Similar to James Coley, the position presents a great resume booster, so I don't lament him interviewing.

Shawn Elliott is staying with South Carolina, Steve Spurrier says.

Welp

This would be extremely odd. He reportedly turned down better offers, inlcluding more money to come back here. Now he's going to bolt in 2 months for another position coach job? Doesnt make sense. I mean I know its Bama and Saban, but still, this is his town and his Alma Mater.

You'd still be wrong, Its not a better job and it wont pay more

I hope you are right... Then again, IT IS Saban and Bama... If they can give kids cars cash and hoes, imagine what they could do to get a coach down there...

I hope this is smoke and not fire, but I have to say the thought of them landing a big time recruiter of So Fla frightens me to death considering they already hold an enormous advantage over us by being allowed to do ANYTHING they want and never even getting looked at by the god **** NCAA.
