Benedict Cristobal is gone

Saban has been interviewing a whole bunch of big named college assistance for the job so I would not panic right now. He interviewed South Carolina's Shawn Elliott yesterday

I thought it wasn't about the money with Mario, and that he and his family were all about FL? If it was about $$ and promotions, wouldn't this guy have pursued one of the BCS level job openings that were available the past couple years?

It just baffles my mind how a guy can come in and take a job in the off-season, and then leaves said job a week or two later for another job. They really need to put some kind of restriction in places for coaches, the same way they do for the kids themselves. Such a joke.

****ing Saban

More like f*cking CrystalBall if this is true. That would be the ultimate **** maneuver, and save me all the "he can't turn down that sort of raise" or whatever other horseshyt anyone wants to toss out there. You don't take a gig at your alma mater and then start looking around for another one a month later.

I really hope this isn't true because, if it is, he's a gaping ****.

Couldn't agree more. It's not like the Golden rumors every time a HC job opens up. Golden may be on people's short list but I don't remember him traveling to interview.
In a lot of companies if you interview at your competitors your current company will look down on that if not outright fire your ***.
Aren't the Canes just starting Utough right now?

Just unbelievable that a "Miami guy" would start traveling to interviews for lateral positions before he probably has picked out office decorations for his current job.

I'm really hoping that this story of him even interviewing is false. If he interviews at Bama it shows a complete lack of character that I'd never be able to forgive. That's like your wife going on a date with some dude but not f#cking him and then acting like she somehow did the right thing.

Rule #1: When someone says it's not about the money, you can be sure it's about the money. Kind of like how liars always preface their statements with "honestly...".

Yeah, I hope he's up in Alabama checking out 2014 recruits and Saban was like, "hey Mario we just got our first Cuban restaurant in Alabama, want to come over and give me an expert opinion."

As for your analogy, interviewing would actually be like your wife blowing some guy and saying, "technically it's not ***."

I'm not in a panic. However, I can assure you that I'll take a completely new view of CrystalBall if he did interview with Bama. I don't really care if he gets the job. The interview, if it took place, is enough for me to be done with him.

I hope one of the muckraker fake journalists down here actually has the intelligence to ax him about this.

Wow. Hope this is a bad rumor.

Bama can already come to Florida and cherry-pick a few kids. Adding a potent So Fla recruiter like Cristobal to its staff would be dangerous.

You mean like when people preface comments with, "can I speak frankly?" and all you think is, "Does that mean you normally lie to me?"

It speaks well of Miami/Cristobal that Saban would interview him for a higher position.

It's not a higher position. He's the Associate HC here. And it would actually speak horribly of CrystalBall if he interviewed.

the Associate HC title is given just so they have an excuse to pay somebody more money than other assistance it means little IMO

If true...

Offensive line coach at Alabama is a better coaching position than Tight Ends coach at Miami, and I'm sure it pays better.
