They won the national championship. Why wouldn't you take the interview? Even if you don't want the job you do the interview as a professional courtesy.
Professional Courtesy?
And to whom?
How about respecting your current employer who just hired you a few weeks ago?
You have no clue.
You turn down an opportunity to interview for a prestigious position you send out a message.
And what message would he be sending if he is already interviewing for other gigs a few weeks after landing a big gig at your alma-mater?
Seriously, you need to have an adult proofread your stuff before you type because your ethics are flawed.
Professional courtesy to Nick Saban, who requested the interview with you. Interviews go both ways. The employer is interested in your services as an employee. Alabama is the top "company" in this line of work as of today. If you turn down an interview with Alabama you send a message to other employers that you want to be in your current position, are comfortable, and take your name out of consideration by default.
This would pose a problem for Mario because I would think it were fairly obvious to all concerned parties that they all knew a coach with Cristobal's credentials didn't take the Assoc HC job as anything more than a stopgap and the opportunity was probably offered to him as such, as a way to mutually benefit and help Al out a little whilst Mario landed on his feet.
That one article says Golden was "made aware" of the interview, but don't you think with their relationship (Al calling Mario as soon as he found out he was fired and offering support and then soon after a job) that Mario spoke with Al about the situation in depth and made sure that Al gave him his blessing before he left for Tuscaloosa?

Wow.....and this guy enters after 14 pages to try and prove a flawed point that was debunked 8 pages ago.
I wasn't trying to prove anything. I was just confused as to why you wouldn't want a former player/coach to succeed? You'd legit rather he stayed an Assoc. HC forever? It's not as if the Alabama OL job was going to be opened up against next year just so that Mario could wait a year and make an amicable departure.
The guy's barely coached TE's in his life and people are acting like he was going to be here more than just the one year anyways? What difference does it make? Carroll can go back to TE's and it'll open up a spot on the coaching staff for someone who plans to stay more than 10 months.
Edit: It's not as if Mario has an opportunity to "move up in the company" either. Golden is HC for 123572809572895 years. Coley is young and up and coming. What was he going to do? He wasn't going to coach the defense obviously.
