Benedict Cristobal is gone

Why is this 14 pages of news?

They won the national championship. Why wouldn't you take the interview? Even if you don't want the job you do the interview as a professional courtesy. You turn down an opportunity to interview for a prestigious position you send out a message.

If this rumor was bogus it would have been easily and quickly shot down by someone at the UM, especially
considering that it (interview) was reported by the so-called paper-of-record in Miami.
A quick phone call from the HC or AD to a Barry Jackson, manbreasty navarro or susan miller-dingbat is all it takes.
Has it happened?

Well it depends on what "confirmed" is.

247 Bama, 247 Canes, Canes Insider and the Miami Herald have all said to have "confirmed" the original report through their sources. TFWIW

Do a basic google search and you'll find that out.

As far as I can tell, it's all based on the 247Sports.com rumor and has not been independently confirmed. E.g, Sporting News is reporting that "According to 247Sports.com...", and the Herald is reporting that "according to a source".

Notice not once in my previous post did I reference Sporting News?

We have confirmed the report @InsideTheU has put out in regards to Mario Cristobal having interest in the #BAMA offensive line opening

MIAMI HERALD
Quick Friday update: Mario Cristobal, UM's associate head coach and tight ends coach, has interviewed with Alabama for the vacant offensive line coaching job on Nick Saban's staff, according to a source. The story was first reported by InsideTheU.com and confirmed by a source. Cristobal declined to comment Friday evening. He has made Al Golden aware of the interview before it happened.

247 SPORTS was the original report, both Bama and Canes site have said to confirm.

What else do you ******* guys need. You be in denial if you saw your wife ******* another dude but since you "couldn't confirm there was actual penetration, because you couldn't see the ***** actually enter the ******", you can't quite be sure if they actually had *** or were just dry humping.

He's interviewing with Bama.......and it's a ***** move.

Wow.....and this guy enters after 14 pages to try and prove a flawed point that was debunked 8 pages ago.

Professional Courtesy?
And to whom?
How about respecting your current employer who just hired you a few weeks ago?
You have no clue.

You turn down an opportunity to interview for a prestigious position you send out a message.

And what message would he be sending if he is already interviewing for other gigs a few weeks after landing a big gig at your alma-mater?
Seriously, you need to have an adult proofread your stuff before you type because your ethics are flawed.

WHat do you expect from a classy dude who probably lives in SEC country?

He probably is the type that would offer a polite golf-clap upon catching his wife giving some dude a reacharound in their bedroom.

It would be the classy thing to do.

Professional courtesy, you know.

LULZ.

I am not here to flame, but IF he went to Al and asked for permission to interview, and IT was given, there is where the ETHICS would be involved. Projecting one's opinion as "ethics" is suspect. And before any fanning of further flames goes, I have taken and completed master's level "Ethics" courses in college and also through many professional accredited courses through employment.

The term "Ethics" has been thrown around pretty loosely and without merit, especially without knowing the FACTS of what Al has allowed. With that, carry on bashing, it sounds great and will be fruitful.

So for those who say loyalty is a two-way street and employers arent always loyal to their employees, I get that

But when has UM ever been disloyal to Cristobal?

First off, we're so far out of the loop as to what's going on, that it's ridiculous to even speculate.

Here's an extensive list of things we don't know:

--Why was Mario brought on at UM? Was it for recruiting purposes only? Was he ****ed by the hiring of Coley?
--What was the nature of his contract with UM? How much is he getting paid? We have "rumors" about this, but no one knows for sure.
--Most importantly, is he even interviewing with Bama at all? There has been no confirmation of the original "report" as far as I know. So thus far, most folks on this board are crucifying Mario on the word of some internet chump without any corroboration.

How about let's allow this thing to play about before we go accusing anyone of being disloyal.

My original point was simply that, in general, employers are not all that loyal to their employees at present, therefore it makes sense to keep your options open.

Why some people are jumping through hoops to try to defend Cristobal is beyond me.

Probably because he's Cuban.

This was a ***** move by Cristobal, no way to spin it.

BAZINGA!!!

Don't mistake my comments as not being upset over it myself as a Canes fan, and it definitely is a head scratchier, doesn't on the surface to look like a wise or well thought out set of moves; however, I will withhold judgement on the whole thing till more information is made available and we hear of an ACTUAL DECISION.

I come from a Cuban family in Miami.
And I have no problem calling out scumbags, even if they share my heritage.
You won't ever catch me defending fake poser aholes like LeBatard, Rick Sanchez,
Armando Salguero, Manny Navarro,etc....
And anyone who does because of race or ethnicity is an ignorant dumbarse.

Good because it's a ***** move to look around for another job after ONE MONTH.

I'm Italian but I don't give a ****, if D'Onofrio can't turn the defense around this year I say fire his ***.

Defending a coach because of race is stupid as ****.

One month, one month and he looks. It is insane.

F*** Cristobal and anyone who isn't on board with taking this program back to the top of college football. That's the attitude I think Golden should have.

I guess im in the minority but didnt he interview with rutgers when he was at fiu? And he decided to stay. There is nothing wrong with exploring your options. It sucks but I cant knock a man for hearing what someone has to offer.

If he leaves I would agree on him selling miami out and being a traitor but until then I will take a wait and see approach.

"Exploring your options" is the new euphemism for engaging in scumbaggery. Go f#ck a new chick and just tell your wife you were exploring your options because you thought the new chick's pu$$y might be tighter.

At this point he only ordered a drink and asked the waitress if she is single. If he asks her to go to the bathroom (2nd interview) and destroys her, then I will be upset.

You're obviously much more forgiving of disloyalty than I am. You'll probably live a longer life than I will because you don't let disloyalty and scumbaggery get you upset.

Maybe it's the guinea in me, but disloyalty and double-dealing makes me see red. Always has. Always will. F#ck with the family, and you're dead to me. He's no different than any other sort of rat weasel if he's taking interviews a month after being given the Associate Head Corch gig at my and his alma mater.

As for your analogy, if my chick is flirting with the bartender, then she might as well f#ck him because it's all the same and she's already dead to me anyway. I'm a hard liner, sir. A gritty old school dude who puts honor and loyalty ahead of scrounging for an extra dollar like some sort of crack fiend.
