You guys are switching the narrative. What was originally said was that Rosier had maxed out and since we already know what we are getting from him to just throw one of the young guns out there and that's what I was arguing against.

I want the best guy to get the job and the guy who will get us to the ACC title game. From what I saw in the Spring game that aint Williams and definitely aint Perry.

Now if somehow Perry morphs into Jameis Winston from 2013 in the next 3 months or Williams does his best impression of Jamelle Holieway from 1985 then God has been looking down on us favorably and lets get it..until then, ill take my chances with Malik.

I know. I personally believe that's our ceiling for the next two years if we play it safe. Here's how I see it.

2018 Rosier- best case acc coastal, lose acc championship
2019 Perry/Williams- brand new qb with no experience means acc coastal, lose acc championship
2020- game tested qb, window for championship

According to my math, the result in 2018 and 2019 are likely the same. Why not advance the time table and have an opportunity to win a ring in 2019?

Except you aren't taking chances with Malik. You are just guaranteeing yourself a safe and comfortable mediocrity.

Wait you saw the spring game and thought rosier was the best? Jarren was the best one making the right reads and was accurate and threw for TDs, we arent switching the narrative you did by changing your reasoning to losing the team by starting a freshman and used kaaya as a example

Because it just doesn't work like that. According to your math? There is not some fixed time table for success. It is not a fact that a brand new qb in 2019 means we automatically lose ACCCG.

Really the best way to get to winning is by simply trying to win the next game. Whoever gives best chance to beat LSU will start. Maybe it is Rosier. Maybe its not for FSU. But he will have to earn his job every single week.

There are rarely guarantees in life, but Rosier has a track record in which he led his team to 10 wins, a Coastal Championship and an Orange Bowl berth. Additionally, he accomplished those feats with a staggering amount of injuries to some of the most talented and productive players on last year's team. Since that time he has been the beneficiary of a full Spring practice under the tutelage of Coach Richt and by all accounts will be surrounded by a considerably more talented supporting cast. Rosier will have had another year to mature as will other players as they enter next year's schedule. As I stated; there are rarely guarantees, but when considering all of the above one has to at least be optimistic...especially if the offensive line improves.
 
It’s pretty telling to me that Richt is so strong on Malik being the starter as of right now. For N’Kosi to be as “ talented” as y’all say he is, it hasn’t been enough to even challenge Rosier. I don’t wanna hear the “ 5th year senior vs a Frosh thing” Rosier couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn on multiple occasions and Sheriffs is a FCS QB and N’Kosi couldn’t get ahead of him until the end of the season so they say. There’s many Frosh QB’s who can play as Freshman, he’s been in the system for a year and is still not challenging Malik to unseat him. I’ll probably get killed for this but if you follow NKosi on social media he doesn’t carry himself like he wants to be a starting QB at this stage in his career. Making a splash play every 10 plays isn’t enough to be a staring QB at this level. I think Jarren ends up being the backup QB this year if they don’t get scary and RS him. There’s no way if Kosi is that talented that he shouldn’t be neck and neck with what Rosier brings to table..

Or he’s not going to say Rosier isnt the starter and spring and risk him transferring(he does graduate this week). It’s pretty simple, read between the lines

The individual with the most established track record of anyone associated with the team is Mark Richt. His track record over 17 years is to average 10 wins each season but fall short of a championship. You just established 10 wins and falling short of a championship as Rosier's track record ("track record" based on one year of observation). So you are right, Richt will probably get what he's always got if he goes with Rosier- at least 10 wins and falling short of a championship. Did it last year. Personally, I'm not happy with that happening again.

I think it is also interesting that some of you have forgotten why Miami wasn't getting any respect until after the ND game. It was because we were squeaking out victories and surviving with miracles. 24-19 over a 1-8 UNC team anyone?

Thinking that Rosier is a QB good enough to win 10 games each year is like deciding a baseball pitcher who finishes the season with a 11-5 record is a "decent pitcher" while conveniently ignoring the fact that he had a 7.58 ERA and his team was averaging 8 runs per game. Miami crushed it last year with turnovers (average 4 per game if I'm not mistaken) so Rosier had an abnormally high number of scoring opportunities. More often than not he would fail to move the ball, but since he had so many chances he'd get lucky and hit a deep pass or the RB would break off a huge gain. I know and YOU know that based on last year's performance Rosier is much closer to an 8-5 qb than an 11-2 qb.

Kaaya won the job via Williams tearing His knee up, it wasn't Kaaya over Williams.

For all intents and purposes, Williams was gonna be the starter in 14', He was having a very good Spring till the injury.

Also remember that Kevin Olsen got kicked off the team before Kaaya got there.

The QB competition was basically between Jake Heaps & Kaaya.

But I agree with you on the upperclassmen, whether it's Rosier or one the Freshmen, gotta send those Seniors out on as high a note as you can.

Let's just say, I remember 1999 pretty well. Dorsey absolutely tore it up in scrimmages before ever starting a game here. It was BECAUSE Butch was on the hot seat that he went the safe route and started Mr. Football, Kenny Kelly. The fear was Dorsey was physically not ready to withstand a pounding, not that he didn't grasp the O and couldn't make plays. Skinny Kenny everyone called him. Believe me, he was ready for playing time much earlier.

Judging from the way Richt looked on the sidelines most of last season, he sure as **** won't be happy with a 10 win ceiling, with some of them being squeekers over bottom dwellers. He knows what can be built here at UM, and it's not a 10 win ceiling.

I don't know if you are gambling man but our line is 9.5 right now. Most people would take the over. If 10 wins is mediocre then I think you need to get back in the delorean and come back to the year 2018 because 10 wins is a helluva season in this age of college football when going undefeated is almost impossible. **** Saban has 6 rings and only has done it once.

Not many teams will win 10+ games next year. (counting just regular season. Not postseason play)

If you guys just hate Malik that's fine. But this argument that because we know what he can do we should just throw Williams/Perry out there and take our chances is "76ers fan/Lets hope we are contenders in 2 years" logic.
