The individual with the most established track record of anyone associated with the team is Mark Richt. His track record over 17 years is to average 10 wins each season but fall short of a championship. You just established 10 wins and falling short of a championship as Rosier's track record ("track record" based on one year of observation). So you are right, Richt will probably get what he's always got if he goes with Rosier- at least 10 wins and falling short of a championship. Did it last year. Personally, I'm not happy with that happening again.

I think it is also interesting that some of you have forgotten why Miami wasn't getting any respect until after the ND game. It was because we were squeaking out victories and surviving with miracles. 24-19 over a 1-8 UNC team anyone?

Thinking that Rosier is a QB good enough to win 10 games each year is like deciding a baseball pitcher who finishes the season with a 11-5 record is a "decent pitcher" while conveniently ignoring the fact that he had a 7.58 ERA and his team was averaging 8 runs per game. Miami crushed it last year with turnovers (average 4 per game if I'm not mistaken) so Rosier had an abnormally high number of scoring opportunities. More often than not he would fail to move the ball, but since he had so many chances he'd get lucky and hit a deep pass or the RB would break off a huge gain. I know and YOU know that based on last year's performance Rosier is much closer to an 8-5 qb than an 11-2 qb.

I did not establish Rosier’s track record as you suggest—he did! And as much as you may not like that…neither you, me nor anyone else can change that fact. By the way ‘Justify’ won the recent Kentucky Derby and has a track record of ONLY one year (more or less) …based on your thinking I guess we should disallow that win and criticize the horse and trainer.

Rosier’s one year track record makes for a very impressive resume when one considers he led a team to 10 wins, an ACC Coastal Championship (first ever for the Canes) and an Orange Bowl berth after the Canes being a college football punch line (or punching bag) over the past 14 years.

I could not care any less if Rosier only completed 10% of his passes last year or won each of the 10 games by 1 point, a ½ point or ¼ of a point. Further, I also don’t care about the records of the other teams we beat. My mantra mirrors Al Davis’ battle cry; “Just win baby!”

Under Rosier’s leadership the Canes were one game away from being in the 2018 College Football Playoffs…and were for a short period of time ranked 2nd in the Playoff eligibility race, again, under Rosier’s leadership. If not for the serious injuries suffered by many of the Canes most significant players and poor offensive line play they would have almost assuredly been in the playoffs or handily beat Wisconsin, even with the deplorable officiating.

Last year Miami enjoyed more good press than any time in the last 20 years, if not longer.

Unlike you, I am VERY thankful for what Rosier did last year. Do I believe he was on the level of a Baker Mayfield or Sam Darnold last year? **** no! Is there the possibility that he has improved during the off season? **** yes!

I think people forget that Weldon has the fastest 40 of the QBs. He came in with a 4.5. With that said, a DT QB on an air raid team is impossible to stop. Check out Pat White's career with West Virginia. That should be the Canes as we get on with the next few years. JW is picking up steam and the OL recruiting is looking unreal. There is a bright future ahead.

Dorsey was a true freshman from way out in California that didn’t enroll early. He came in the summer. There was no chance he was starting or playing much unless Kelly got injured, which is exactly what happened.

Butch was under extreme pressure that year, he lost to East Carolina for God’s sake. People wanted him fired. They wanted him to play Dorsey. He stuck with Kelly all the way until injuries caught up to him later in the season. So Dorsey didn’t play until several injuries brought Kelly down, including an ankle and knee injury. Stop making shlt up.

People also forget how close Butch was to being fired in 1999, or at least how wildly unpopular he was. He was absolutely hated.

I agree. If Richt is the teacher of QBs that I believe he is, he should start the young, talented guy and teach him all along the way. He simplified the O for Rosier for the better part of last season, so why not do it for a guy with far more talent? Knowing the O and executing it are two drastically different things. Part of coaching is implementing a game plan that suits the talent you have to run it. Well, there's nothing you can implement that an inaccurate passer can run effectively. Nothing. If you have a talented young QB, you figure out what he CAN do, and go from there.

Ill give you boston college but not VT or FSU we were in control of those games, and dorsey atleast stepped up when he needed to in those games to put us in position, something malik failed to do in the pitt game, also dorsey didn’t have guys treaking downfield open, our OL was playing like *** in that BC game, its hard to overcome bad QB play no matter what team you have

And Dorsey also had some great games that season(not good 4th qtrs). I was confident every time Dorsey led CANES took the field. He was surrounded by supreme talent and did an outstanding job

A player regressing towards the end of the season isn't on coaching. They didn't suddenly start teaching other things. It's usually do to a number of things like injuries, lack of focus, tougher competition, surrounding talent being injured. Rosier outperformed his expectations last year and thats called development. No coach is going to make a great QB out of Malik Rosier because he doesn't have the talent level for it. We'll see what we can get out of Perry/Williams in the next two years.

Dorsey outplayed Kelly in practices, and that's the truth.

Making stuff up. As usual. Prove it. Dorsey showed up on campus in July. He was a true freshman. Butch was desperate. He had one foot in the grave. Kelly was the starter all the way until he was injured. I went to all the games, chief. I’ve been a fan for a while. Him starting after Kelly was injured was a huge deal because he was like the first true freshman starter QB for UM in like 30 years.

This is how it was. Kelly was very inconsistent, and I didn’t think he was playing that great, I was ready for a change myself, Butch still wouldn’t put Dorsey in until Kelly got the knee injury.
