Banner For Cook This Weekend At His Game

i think its a great idea assuming its ok with UM compliance. kids love when people show them love. clearly yearby needs to be mentioned so as not to alienate him as he has been loyal throughout the process.

I swear some of yall on here are just weird as *****. You cry about the fanbase being crap but when they want to do something to excite a kid about coming here you **** on it. "Ohhh, that sooooooo lame dude!", "It makes us look desperate! Its embarassing!"...Well guess what dyck wipes..WE ARE DESPERATE! FSU is about 30 days away from winning a National title and completely turning this state upside down. If those clowns end up closing strong with a class of Cook, Lane, Mixon, and JC, you can kiss our a$$ goodnight for the next 3 years AT LEAST. I will sign off on anything to prevent that from happening.

(My only problem with this idea is how in the **** are they gonna see the banner if its a night game? And is the PA announcer gonna give the crowd a heads up when its being flown? Most people dont just happen to look up at the sky during a night game..Just sayin..)

Why watch the game when you can look up?
 
setting aside the points I made about this COULD be a violation (no expert), and setting aside the point I made that all the ones not mentioned COULD feel slighted, and setting aside the point I made that the actual object of the banner COULD feel it is creepy, is there air space allowed to fly a banner over that part of town???

WE ARE NOT DESPERATE. **** THAT SOFT A$$ ****. Miami has outrecruited Alabama for Deon Bush. Miami has outrecruited Florida for Tracey Howard. Miami has outrecruited FSU for Stacey Coley. Cook wouldn't even be the highest rated recruit we have if he committed to us today. Do I want him as a recruit? Helll yeah, but to think Miami has to do something different to get him is beyond silly. Derek Jeter doesn't **** Jessica Biel and Jessica Alba, but is afraid to approach Beyonce.

Miami has a top 5 CLASS RIGHT NOW. No need to ACT like we can't hang with da big BOYS.
 
Now how would you guys feel if we did all of that and he went to FSU?


IMO the banner is a horrible idea, if anything show up to his game in Cane gear and at the most make a sign for him to "join his brothers Yearby and Darling at The U", or "rep your city and stay home" or "get well soon Yearby, stay home Dalvin".

And you wouldn't be able to see a banner flying at night, so stupid idea all together.

And ya, its a bit creepy, not to mention we will be making a banner for a recruit who is still committed to one of our most hated rivals(UF) with a huge chance of flipping to our other most hated rivals(FSU).

And yes we would look very desperate.

THIS...GOLDEN has said this many times. Miami Fans need to get over this Bama (now FSU) complex.
Jimbo Fisher loaded up on Talent while Randy & the NCAA held us down. And Muschump is at Florida. We will be fine and get our share of Talent.

The sad thing is ppl really think that a banner is going to be difference to sway Cook if he is really intent on playing for FSU or UF.

If any of you who are backing this Banner, have ever courted the most desirable woman at your school, work place, community,church, synagogue, mosque, etc. then you would know that "sweet" and "thoughtful" acts of desperation are a complete turn off.

Flying a banner for a HS kid is too much. Just go to the game wear canes gear and chirp at him.
 
Central plays Mainland in the state semifinal on Friday at 7:30 at Traz Powell. Just go to the game
 
It's is a fine idea so long as it is not a recruiting violation. These teenagers will eat this up and it can do nothing but help Miami. Dude is a game changer and possible program changer...as fans this is what we want...we can do something to help. I vote "yes".
 
DGHustla/demcanes26, I admire your O&G glasses that you wear 24/7. But the reality is that we lost to DUKE. BADLY. (and im not talking about in basketball either) Yes, we have a great class this year. But you guys were probably saying the same thing back in 08' when we had the #1 class in the nation but just so happen to miss out on the most important piece in that year...PATRICK PETERSON! Dalvin Cook is this years PP. Yes, the class will be a great one, but we need that "program changer". DC is it.

And if FSU wins the title this year, you will be singing a diff tune in about 3 years from now. Ive seen this script before. (back in 95') and it doesnt end well for us. We have to prevent DC from going north.
 
And just for the record, im not saying we should do the banner. I agree that we should just go to the game and cheer with Cane gear on. But im not gonna knock the cats want to do it. Thats just "hatin' from the sidelines" at its finest.

Thanks for assuming. BUT no it was evident to me when Patrick Johnson signed with LSU that it was a huge loss. As he was the "missing piece" to a great class. Considering he was #1 at his position, #5 overall and in #1 in the state of Florida. The most physically gifted kid in the class...I was angry and sadden when he deflected in the 11th hour.

If you want to ***** yourself out to a 18 year old because you think or feel it will make a difference then go ahead. You think if FSU doesn't get DC that they won't have other dangerous playmakers? You think if we don't get DC we won't have other dangerous playermakers? I hear what you saying. The kid is a special talent but this is football and it's going to take 10 other guys at all times to help DC be great at the next level. Whose to say Patrick Johnson has the same career here at Miami that he had at LSU when he doesn't have other ELITE NFL prospects around him? I heard that Ray Ray Armstrong was the second coming of Sean Taylor even wore 26 when he got here, what happened to him when he wasn't given great coaching and wasn't surrounded by other elite prospects? 5 stars are nice but they only mean something when the kid shows up and bust his *** like Duke or Stacy Coley and when they have talent around them.

The Banner is lame because it will have zero impact on his decision. Sure Pete will interview him and ask what he thought about the Banner. and DC will say "It was cool, that was nice of the fans, it shows me they want me there." but at the end of the month when has a LOI from FSU,UF, and UM on his dinning room table. He will not be thinking "gee those UM fans flew a banner for me, that's the best fit."
 
THe staff will have unlimited access with him and they wont want to have anything to do with the banner. It's a passionate thing to do but let the coaches do their jobs and what the fans can do is go support Central Friday and go to the open practice and if you see the recruits chant their names and make them feel wanted
 
If I, random Joe Schmoe with no connection to the school, decide to fly a banner at a high school game directed at a recruit without the school's knowledge or participation, how can the school be punished? I would most definitely NOT ask the school, that's a terrible idea.

If I am wrong on this, why don't we pool some money and fly some pro-UF and FSU banners all around the country?
 
DGhustla, we will agree to disagree. Still cant understand why hate on the cats that want to do it. Somebody on here secretly hack into your bank account and make you put money in? Just dont put ya money up playa and keep it moving. But you sound like the biggest playa hata right now trashin cats who want to do something positive. Too each his own.
