If we're all being intellectually honest here:
-There's a segment of us that never want any kids to leave early because we want to maximize their benefit to us as Miami Hurricane fans.
-There's another at least as large segment that cheers on ANY kid that grabs whatever payday he can as quickly as he can because you're diametrically opposed to the current constructs of amateurism within the NCAA.
-Then there are those of us that try to analyze these situations on a case by case basis. Sure, we're Canes fans first but can also understand that there are also a plethora of situations where a kid SHOULD leave early and that we shouldn't begrudge them in the slightest for doing so.
The problem with the first two subsets is it prevents us from calling it like it is once the results actually play out. You become more attached to protecting your original position than acknowledging the cases that contradict it.
I don't see how anyone can currently say that it hasn't proven to be a big mistake for RJ and Norton to leave. Sure, it's exacerbated around here because we have the Petey/WaWa 6th Round Management angle to play up but the result is still the result. And I say this as a guy that will also readily admit that I was very wrong about Duke Johnson making a mistake in leaving early (despite still holding major reservations about his choice in agent representation).
~end diatribe~
