I think we were always taking a 2nd RB in this cycle

I'm guessing he had a sit down with Manny and Manny was brutally honest with him about his future playing time

I'm not really worried about this
Honestly, it never made sense to me to bring him to Miami when we had Lingard and Harris from 2018 and Dallas in his 3rd year. He was always going to be that 3rd wheel at best and I think it was a disservice to Martin. Yes, you want competition and no position is guaranteed, but when you already have quality players at that position, you thank the kid for his interest and take a pass. Next year there will be two more backs to compete with. So, its probably best for him to go to a school in need. It's ok for a freshman to sit, but when you're in your 3rd year, you want to be a major contributor.

He wouldn’t have played a down with Chaney coming aboard. Best of luck kid, alotta schools could use the talent, he was a luxury addition.

Sell me on this take.
I think he compliments our current stable of backs really well. He is a bigger back that can play all over the field like Dallas but projects to carry more weight at the college level. Surprisingly quick and nimble for his size but he does lack some top end speed. He is already friends with some of the New York guys we brought down last season and I think if we made him a priority even as the number 3 back in the class it wouldnt be to hard to get him down here.

Quite honestly, I never really understood why we got him in the first place. It really makes zero sense for us to get Transfer RBs.

Too bad this counts as an IC still. Though we'll probably give his scholarship to a walk on guy....

I acknowledge that he is a different back from a play style standpoint.

But...he's not very good.

Ah yes what insightful commentary you have on his game. He is a lot better player than any back not named Don Chaney Jr. or Jaylan Knighton we are recruiting right now.

He's bigger than that. He was 5'11, 180 as a sophomore in high school.

He has a WR build but he's not small. I could see him being 5'11, 200 if he really works hard in the weight room.
I agree this is such a whiff from the staff. You take Parrish on the spot right after Chaney says I want to play with him. Then make everyone else sweat and beg. Make Parrish prove he’s worthy of keeping the spot and others show off at Paradise to take it. Amateur move that’s plagued this staff for a long time. This is my biggest and really only beef with Manny this far. They need to evaluate and make moves south FL style. You sit around and wait for anything in this place you’re screwed.
